Best Porter I have ever had. Huge vanilla bean nose, huge vanilla bean taste, then a chocolatey, slightly bitter coffee and berry finish. Unbelievable beer.

Growler from Whole Foods. Black and black with thin tan head. Burnt roasted coffee nose slight hint of vanilla. Flavor very burnt and roasty. Not a fan of coffee beers... too burnt and not enough complementary malt. Alcohol is well hidden tho.

My Bottom Line:
Creamy vanilla, chocolate and coffee whip up a memorable piece of cake.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A creamy head of foam sits atop the blackness.
-These super-sweet dessert-like concoctions can only work if they’re impeccable, and this one is.
-Coffee and roasted malts add welcoming depth away from the sweetness spectrum.
-Carbonation was pleasantly fluffy.

Strong hops, strong vanilla, strong coffee, high alcohol, this beer is high in everything, but it doesn’t taste very good. It is like Kahlua with hops. Perhaps its appeal is to those who like lots of tastes other than good malt and hops, but it isn’t very impressive.

Pours a deep dark black with minimal tan head. Aroma has a big roasty note up front, followed by rich chocolate and then the vanilla comes through, almost like vanilla iced cream. Flavor is huge on the vanilla, but almost has an extract like taste to it, roastiness follows and the chocolate character as well. Overall this is a pretty good drinking shelf turd, especially for breakfast.

A big bomber pour.
Typical appearance of a dark, yummy porter style.
A pleasing, warm alcohol aroma, woody smoke, cinnamon, bittersweet chocolate. I really am not getting any coffee hints, but the vanilla comes through with the alcohol....interesting.
Taste is slightly more hoppy than some other porters, but good.
Definitely some more alcohol on the finish, along with some tootsie roll sweet chocolate flavors.
This was an interesting Imperial Porter....at first, I wasn’t to sure about it...just didn’t quite seem to be all there, a bit off kilter maybe.
As I sat, enjoyed and rated, it became more enjoyable.
My suspicion is that this needs to be served at a bit warmer temp than some other porters for a full experience.
"It was darkly rumoured that the butler, regarding him with favour such as that stern man had never shown before to mortal boy, had sometimes mingled porter with his table beer to make him strong."

750ml bottle. If you like effervescent coffee liqueur this is the beer for you. Pours black with a minimal head that’s gone in an instant leaving no lacing. Aroma is chocolate, coffee and wood ash. Taste is very lightly sweet and medium bitter. Medium body, lively to fizzy carbonation (way too much for this beer), burnt malts, bitter chocolate and a long bitter finish. Alcohol is too prominent. I generally like this sort of beer but not this one.

Draught@RNH. Dark black color, small beige head. Chocolate and cocoa in the nose, Medium to full bodied. Lots of milk chocolate, latte, Lingering attacking bitterness in the aftertaste. Nice transition from sweet and roasted to bitter and fruity. Excellent.
