Two of the world’s oldest beverages join forces to conquer your palate. Victory at Sea embodies the art of masterful brewing by infusing a velvety Imperial Porter with pure vanilla flavor and specially-selected, hand roasted coffee. The addition of cold brewed coffee to the beer lends a subtle roasted flavor to this robust imperial porter, blending perfectly with rich vanilla and caramel undertones. By uniting two San Diego brewing traditions, Caffe Calabria freshly brewed coffee and Ballast Point beer, we have successfully created an artisanal masterpiece.

UPDATED: FEB 17, 2014 Magnificent beer. Rich robust full bodied with real intent to overwhelm the palate with flavour. RERATE: Having just tried a beer that I gave 4.4 how can I not improve on this? Previously this was in my top five. Where do I go from here? If you like full flavoured dark beers, then this is one of the finest examples you will see.

Quality porter, or IMO, a stout. However, all coffee and vanilla and too little roast aroma and taste.

My first to have in Michigan. It’s good to have them here. On tap at The Oak. Dark black pour with a mocha head. Coffee chocolate nose. Big coffee bitterness that goes through the whole thing. Very drinkable. Nice feel. Some sharp carb feels. Good stuff.

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle. Deep dark brown pour under a fluffy tan head. Vibrant aroma of vanilla, spent coffee grinds, and vague fruit character. The body is smooth and medium. Coffee and caramel sweetness in the flavor with a full bitterness that lingers briefly at the finish.

UPDATED: NOV 18, 2015 Damp concrete roadt nose. Black super glossy appearance with light loose light tan head. Deep sappy slick body. Bitter dark chocolate & coffee with traces of ash and restrained liquorice. Some acidity. Light vanilla. The bitterness leaves a very long lingering black coating in the roof of your mouth. Stealthily huge but still linear.

A dark crimson pour with generous head and visible carbonation. Huge vanilla smell, together with coffee, chocolate, cocoa and caramel. The taste is quite complex and perfectly balanced, with vanilla up front, followed by coffee, alcohol spiciness and malt sweetness blended together with a soft bitterness. The soft carbonation makes for a very nice mouth-feel. Medium-dry finish with a strong vanilla feel that lasts on the palate. One of the best porters around, and I am quite picky about my porters.
