COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
When empirical and creative impulses collide, the result is often timeless. The classic utility-art aesthetic of the coffee maker is an example of design and engineering working in concert. It is through similar cooperation that the simple bitter cocoa bean is transformed into a sweet treat. As scientists, our brewers utilize their materials to exacting standards. As artists, they couldnít resist the temptation to combine the best flavors of two of our highly acclaimed Blackwater Series Imperial Stouts, Jahva and Choklat. Alone each is perfect, but together as Mokah, they are an inimitable expression of two of the worldís most sought after flavors. Enjoy Mokah stout with - or as - your favorite dessert! Cheers!

Bomber. Poured black white a nice light brown head, nice lacing on the glass. Aroma, chocolate and coffee are predominant, some vanilla, some malts and some booze. Taste has the sweetness of chocolate combined with some of the bitterness of coffee, some vanilla, certainly some booze. Great beer, delicious, a sipper but quite enjoyable.

My distributor said this was the new batch, so I assume the bottle is fresh. Served in a tulip and enjoyed @ around 45 degrees. The beer pours a midnight oil black with a thick tan head that leaves nice lacing as it fades. Aroma is very strong, I can smell it from a couple of feet away. Milk chocolate, cocoa, rich roasted coffee, roasted barley, and hints of soy sauce. Really nice and chocolate forward. It kind of reminds me of smelling good hot cocoa made with half and half. On to taste. Right off the bat the beer is a cocoa/chocolate bomb. Rich milk chocolate and cream flavors lead into dark roasted coffee and lots of cocoa. The cocoa flavors persist and eventually coat the mouth, leaving almost a gritty type of feel. It reminds me of nibbling on a high quality 90% cacao bar. Overall mouthfeel is medium and not really syrupy at all. Alcohol is near invisible, which at 10% should be dangerous, but I donít see this as being a beer that I would really want to session anyway. Overall an outstanding beer.

Black pour with a thin light khaki head, giving off a lovely aroma of Hersheys milk chocolate and creamy mocha coffee. Amazing flavor with loads of milk chocolate and chocolate syrup, a little sweet earthy coffee, a little roast and good chocolaty sweetness. This is basically a cake in a glass and I love every bit of it. Quiet sublime coffee finish.

Smells great, tons of milk chocolate with a hint of coffee and some roasted malts. Completely black, thick brown head. Tastes delicious. Coffee-candy like flavors in this one. Upfront some umami/soy, chocolate, finishes with more soy characteristics, coffee on the exhale and a sticky sweetness. Extreme flavors but well balanced. Alcohol very well hidden. This one is great, hadnít tried it fresh but aged two years itís quite nice. Thick bodied and average carbonation.

On tap. This is very enjoyable. Dark and robust. Full of chocolate and coffee delivered in a lushish creamy full body. I like it more than than the chokolat.

UPDATED: APR 12, 2015 Bottle from Epsom Circle Market, Epsom, NH. Aroma is rich chocolatey without discernible coffee. No alcohol smell despite 10% APV. Appearance is opaque black with moderate, off-white crinkling head with good lacing and fair retention. Taste is medium sweet chocolate dominant over lightly bitter coffee long finish (If Iím being picky, perhaps the only fault is the interplay between the two could be more complex). Palate is medium-bodied, creamy with perfect amount of carbonation to enhance the flavor rather than compete with it. Overall, this beer is pretty awesome. A nice chocolatey treat without being overly sweet. Iím trying to savor it but am already anticipating my second pour.

Drank from a pint glass poured from a large bottle! Thank you, Kevin!! Deliciousness. Pours black with little to no, brown head. Tastes of chocolate and chalk, but still delicious.

Bottled March 12, 2015.
Glass: Duvel tulip.
Appearance: Black body with a short tan head, a bit thin and doesnít seem to have great retention. A bit foamy.
Aroma: A blend of cocoa powder, chocolate truffles and dark chocolate, a tad astringent, with coffee hidden. Aroma smells sweet and enjoyable.
Taste: Coffee and chocolate merge together with the chocolate taking hold. Chocolate is sort of like the chocolate cream in a truffle, cocoa powder, Yoo-Hoo and bitter cacao throughout, morphing. The coffee is light in comparison, but noticed. The chocolate is the standout flavor though, a tad artificial.
Palate: Full-bodied, moderately carbonated.
Overall: This is a decent beer, but I feel that the chocolate comes off too prominent with an artificial presence while the coffee is hidden, mostly, and somewhat astringent.

Bottle at home. 3 years old. Has a dark to black colour with a small beige head. The aroma is dominated by chocolate truffles, dark chocolate, candy, roasted malt and some coffee and alcohol. The flavour has more coffee, dark chocolate and is quite rich. Has a slick and silky mouth feel, and a solid bitterness. Both heavy aroma and taste. The aroma is sweet and the flavour is pretty bitter.
