COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
When empirical and creative impulses collide, the result is often timeless. The classic utility-art aesthetic of the coffee maker is an example of design and engineering working in concert. It is through similar cooperation that the simple bitter cocoa bean is transformed into a sweet treat. As scientists, our brewers utilize their materials to exacting standards. As artists, they couldn’t resist the temptation to combine the best flavors of two of our highly acclaimed Blackwater Series Imperial Stouts, Jahva and Choklat. Alone each is perfect, but together as Mokah, they are an inimitable expression of two of the world’s most sought after flavors. Enjoy Mokah stout with - or as - your favorite dessert! Cheers!

Coffee beer showdown! I have me 4 coffee beers to compare and contrast tonight. Beer #4. Pours opaque black with a fairly small tan head that collapses after a minute or so. Aroma is deliciously chocalately, which smells very awesome, but I’m not getting any coffee here. Taste is rich chocolate and not much else. If there’s coffee in here, or "mokah," it’s the severely doctored-up sort, what my father-in-law calls candy coffee, filled with so much sweetener that the coffee is neglible. That doesn’t detract from the fact that this is some really tasty shit! This blows the other three coffee beers I rated tonight away by a long shot.

Southern Tier has mastered dessert beers. Sweet cocoa aromas blended with espresso, toffee and hints of floral hops. Flavor? Think dark chocolate espresso beans. Coffee bitterness balanced with sweet caramel and toffee. Hoppy undertones and some light grains round it out nicely. The alcohol becomes strong as the beer warms, but the thick, creamy feel caries it well.

Pours dark brown with thin tan head. Aroma of rotated coffee beans, chocolate, maybe some vanilla. Taste is bold chocolate. Very sweet. A little hint of coffee but the chocolate takes over. A little too much for my taste, but still pretty good

old bottle from beer bill? aged for couple of years. DAMMMMM! this is very good stuff. unbelievable great aroma of chocolate, choc milk, and coffee. smoov palate. taste is balanced by hops and not cloyingly sweet. though chokolat was too much chocolate after a few sips - this is balanced greatly with coffee and hops - should have tried this sooner!

Backlog. Bottle @ Green Lion Inn 2011, aged for about 12 months in average conditions. Their dark beers always excite me, and this is truly fabulous.

Bottle at new years. All chocolate coffee nose, rich chocolate taste, bitter coffee, thick roasted taste, an outstanding beer.

22oz bottle pours opaque rich brown black with very thin head. Nose is nutty marshmallow and tootsie roll. Taste is sweet creamy viscous tootsie roll, nutty cocoa and coffee, creamer. Finish is sweet marshmallow and milk chocolate. A little much, trying to finish a whole bottle would be tough, but fairly good.

Pours a thick black on tap with thin ring of tan head. Aroma is chocolate with a hint of roast. Taste is more on the coffee side, but nice chocolate back end. Decent, the booze is definitely well hidden, creamy sticky mouth.

650ml Flasche.

From memory. Had this probably before my RB days. Was a big fan of the ST black water series. This was like a blend between the chocolate and java (coffee). My second favorite in the series behind java. Not sure why those were the two they diacontinued. Lots of sweetness, maybe even too much. chocolate and coffee.
