COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Often referred to as Burning River Pale Ale’s big brother, this stock ale is remarkably balanced for such a highly hopped beer. A rich deep blood red color makes this beer scary enough to be served every Halloween and a few other times of the year.

Aroma: Floral and citrus hops overwhelming. Appearance: Clear dark red with a thick tan head that leaves lots of lacing. Taste: Medium sweetness balanced by a light bitterness that balances nicely, but doesn’t overwhelm. Palate: Medium-full body, creamy texture, soft carbonation, long soft finish. Overall: This one caught me off guard because it sets up to be a strong, bitter beer but it’s really well balanced and even handed. The hops and flavors are there, but they’re not overwhelming, and the malty sweetness is there, but it’s not so saccharine as to be offensive. This is a really well designed beer that I would seek out again next year!

Bottle. Toasty, fruity caramel malt and light herbal hops aroma. Hazy amber with a large beige head. Toasty caramel malt and strong herbal hops bitterness. Body on the lighter side of full, moderate carbonation. Not really my thing, but well made.

Damn this is drinkable. Pours red, a little cloudy, with a nice thick head that lasts. Great spicy rye aroma with some hops in the background. Great thin body. Good balance of spicy malts, sweetness, and hop bitterness. Good stuff.

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle. There are strong malt notes throughout, caramel, toffee, bready. There is solid citrusy hops that balance the maltiness. There is a slight grassy vegetal hop character. Lingering bitterness.
