3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Bart (2329) - Brussels, BELGIUM - FEB 9, 2012
Bottle @ RBBWG, thanks to Benzai. Black coloured beer with a rather small brown head. Rather heavy roasted malty and chocolate infused light alcoholic hinted aroma. Full palate. Finish is strong alcoholic, with roasted malty and clear chocolate roasted ending. Good one.

Bottle. Dark black color with a tan head on it. Smell is full of chocolate, roasted malts, oak, bourbon, alcohol, and a little touch of hops. Taste is full bodied, very thick but pretty easy to drink. Sweet and smooth flavor. Kind of like the best of both worlds when it comes to Yeti. Very good stout, but I think I will still take the regular yeti over all of the offerings.

Chocolate Oak Aged Yeti pours thick and oily. Black as night. Oil like. A two finger head forms. Very dark tan head with great retention. The smell is fantastic. Sweet chocolate aroma. Roasted malt character and a little bit of a hoppy aroma. Lingering is the smell of hotness. Chilis and peppers. To top it off the nice smokiness from the Oak. Just a pleasure to drink but even better to taste.
Like in the the smell the chocolate flavor is up front. It’s sweet and rich. The oak comes in next and lingers on the tongue. Brown sugar then comes in next followed by the pepper. Now at first this beer might not wow you but as you drink this brew everything starts to add up, especially the pepper. It ends up burning in the end. Alcohol and the smokey oak flavor just sits in your mouth, mixed in with chocolate you get every sip it’s just an awesome combination.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Martinus (663) - Nijmegen, NETHERLANDS - JAN 30, 2012
Opaque brown black beer, tan head. Aroma of chocolate, malts, vanilla, cocoa and heavily roasted malts. Some hop tones still manage to get through over this heavily roasted artillery. Flavour rather sweet, bittersweet chocolate, burned malts, bitter coffee, quite pronounced hop bitterness. Thick texture, finish of bitter chocolate, burned malts and bitter hops. Turning to bitter and almost sour, like a quinine drink. Not bad but a bit too unbalanced for my taste.
(From 66cL bottle @ RBBWG 2012, Antwerpen. Thanks for sharing, Benzai!)

Bottled on March 10, 2010
Tasted in October 2011 from a 22oz bomber bottle shared at a tasting. Pours opaque, oily black with a thin brown head that leaves a thin collar of lace. The nose is milk chocolate syrup, dark chocolate, molasses, coffee, vanilla, a hint of cinnamon, and a roasted charred note. The flavor is really dominated by chocolate with hints of molasses, vanilla, coffee, and roasted, savory char. The body is full with average carbonation and a long dark chocolate, coffee, and vanilla finish.

65 cl. bottle sampled @ RBWG 2012 – thx to Benzai – impy black with a small mocha head, lots of bitter chocolate in this one with some thick malts underneath, roasted coffee, nice wood (clearly present), serious bitterness but in a nice way, hint of toffee, hoppy bitterness in the aftertaste, hint of chilli, thick body medium carbonation although a slight less creamed up thickness than the regular one, nice but that is mostly because the base beer is so freaking awesome because this is a step down from the regular yeti, still lovely
