COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is intended to be a sensory assault for hop lovers. At 8.0% ABV, four hop additions during the brew process, and a final wallop of excessive Columbus dry-hopping, this beer is meant to say one thing: MORE HOPS! Perfect for these cool winter nights, The Deviant is a returning favorite from the little brewery in Lyons, Colorado that started the Canned Revolution!

Pours a very light copper with golden highlights, very tight and thick foam that leaves generous cobweb like lacing on the sides of the glass. Slightly hazy. Aroma is all hops up front, dank and wet. Citrus, orange peel, and a toasted biscuit-like malt aroma. Flavor is sweetly malty but not heavy nor sugary. Malt really shines through with a cracker-like doughy flavor, dare I even say slightly savory. The hops are very clean and display a distinct profile. Floral and citrusy at the same time with a very subtle fruitiness. Finishes exceptionally clean. Bitterness is smooth and not harsh nor catty. The aftersip leaves the drinker with neither a sweet nor overly bitter aftertaste. I’m not sure if I have ever rated a beer this high.

Oskar Blues Deviant Dale’s IPA has a thick, frothy, overflowing, off-white head, a semi-clear, rust-orange appearance, some stray bubbles, and heavy lacing left behind. The aroma is of strong, somewhat turned, sweet fruits, white bread, and a touch of pine. Taste is of strong, bitter, slightly-turned fruit (apricot?), white bread, sweetness, and pine oil. Mouthfeel is medium to heavy, and Oskar Blue Deviant Dale’s IPA finishes mostly dry, not boozy, and bitter. RJT

Originally rated on 3/8/2015. Tried this one a while back and forgot to inventory it.. A clear, deep amber colored body with a huge frothy head that slowly dissipated and left some spotty lace. Smell is dank, pine needles, with a little floral herbs for good measure. Taste is nicely balanced between big sweet malt, dank floral hoppiness, and bracing bitterness. Mouth feel is a bit thick, nicely carbonated, and slightly oily. Overall another good beer from O.B.

Burk örebro ölcafe. Eldig orange kulör. Kraftfull humledoft med barr, citrus och torkad frukt. Rå men samtidigt mjuk smak med rejäl maltgrund med fin humletopp. Lätt söt

Clear dark amber color, two-finger off-white head, bands of lace. Strong aroma of hops. Taste is full-bodied malt that yields to strong citrus hops on the swallow, but, as much as the hops are hyped, it’s the malt that prevails in the end. Complex and interesting. A solid mainline brew. Recommended.

Rated based on notes taken 24 Apr 2012 -- Similar to an Arrogant Bastard in the Strong Malt and Strong hop presence. Both equally strong and neither really out-doing each other.

4 oz chilled pour into a cylindrical tasting glass from tap at the brewery’s taphouse. Fresh as can be! A bit hazy, light brown, and a great head with tons of lacing. Full bodied. Thick as syrup. Herby and grapefruity. Kind of an arugula bitterness to it. The aftertaste is surprisingly short lived.

Hint of hops in the scent with some malt. Dark gold color. Same hint of hops with the flavor, with the malt coming through
