A complex seasonal that features hitns of caramel, chocolate, coffee, nuts. It pours dark and has a dark brown head. Drinks smooth and a lingering finish.

Poured into a snifter. Dark brown, tan head. Nose is muted and sweet chocolate/roasted malts. Taste is also very sweet. Overall decent but not that impressed.

Huge cherry and bourbon nose. Sweet malt notes hit the back of your mouth . Very well crated beer.

I think this beer was absolutely phenomenal. The Cream Stout is a great beer in its’ own right. But add in the aroma of bourbon and the alcoholic warmth going down your throat it it really does bring it to a whole new level. The palate i marked at a four because of the warmth, but really it is phenomenal.

Another great one from Bells. So glad that they are selling this in Chicago again.

Had this at a tasting recently. Colour... nearly black with no head. Nose... burnt sugar, dark caramel, molasses. Palate... bubbly, tobacco, bonfire smoke, bitter, dark fruits, toasted raisins, cigar box and a lengthy ashen finish.

On tap, and large snifter served at Brixie’s in Brookfield, IL. Poured black/brown, with a modest, light tan head that reduced to a foamy ring and film, leaving some strands of lacing. The aroma was roasty, subtle bourbony cask wood, cocoa, some dark fruit sweetness as plum, and a touches of molasses and vanilla. The flavor was similar, showcasing rich malt, and light creaminess to the mouthfeel. A very enjoyable Imperial Stout!

Draught @ World of Beer, Tampa, FL: Surprise! They had promised Expedition but replaced it with this one, which was fine by me as it was a new rating and a new Imperial Stout for me. Came black with a good off-white head and some great lacing throughout. The aroma is light with hints of roasted coffee beans and chocolate; oddly no bourbon? The first sip is all roasted coffee, quickly chased by bourbon and chocolate with something a little sour I found it hard to put my finger on. My only flaw is the mouthfeel was lighter than I’d hope for, but altogether a good effort.
