COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Rogue’s Shakespeare Stout is ebony in color, a rich creamy head and a mellow chocolate aftertaste. It is made from Northwest Harrington, Crystal, and Chocolate malts, roasted barley and rolled oats, along with Cascade hop.

Bottle from the Hunger Mountain Coop in Vermont. Pours a real dark brown colour with hardly any highlights. Mocha brown coloured head, great retention and sticky lacing. Roasted malt aromas with lots of fruity notes from the malt. Hints of coffee, also found in the taste a little more. Takes over the fruitiness of the malt. Coffee lingers in the after taste with a little dryness from the hops, creating some mild bitterness. A nice beer but seems to me more like a regular porter than an oatmeal stout. Missing the creaminess and sweetness of one. Love Rogue, but not impressed with this one.

Inky black pour with a thick tan head. Rich nose of earthy chocolate and steel cut oats with a dry roastiness. Nice creamy and rich flavor that isnt too heavy or syrupy. Nice sweet earthy roast tones with some cocoa and earthy oat, with a smoky finish.

Dry, hints of chocolate, not the smooth silky mouthfeel I’d expect, mild bitterness overpowers malty sweetness. I fear this hasn’t been stored properly and may be a disservice to the brewers.

Amazing pour with a finger of tan head. Aroma of chocolate, malts, and slight bitter bakers chocolate. Taste is medium sweet with a bitter oily finish. Amazing stout

Ar: Sweet coffee and caramel - mild citrusy hops - dark chocolate. Ap: Deep brown with black center, opaque - small light mocha head with poor retention, leaves a thin ring and a wisp of foam on top. T: Mildly sweet cocoa - light roast coffee - high bitterness, hops have a herbal, slightly piney flavor - char and roasted caramel, slight soy. P: Medium body with high carbonation - slightly oily - finish is dry. O: Solid stout - lots of chocolate and coffee flavor with a firm bitterness and some pine and citrus hop accents.

An excellent oatmeal stout, well balanced with a good combination of hops and malt. Pleasing in appearance and pours with a well defined head.

Bomber into an English pint. Pours jet black with a half-inch tan head. Nose of roasted malts with a bit of coffee and moderate hoppy presence; rich roasty flavour with a bit of chocolate malt, light hop, bitter finish. Creamy and velvety on the palate. Delightful.
