On tap at brewpub sevral times this winter. Pours black with thin tan head that lightly laces down. Aroma dominated in a good way by coffee with hints of roasted malts, caramel, chocolate, and coffee shop. Taste is the best part when the coffee explodes then subsides to a strong stout backbone withdark malts, caramel, dark chocolate, and a little Irish car bomb in there too. This is a beer for the coffee lover, one of the best java stouts I have had and can’t wait for it next winter.

Good Example of a Java Stout.
Has a nice aroma of coffee. The taste is very much of coffee with a consistent palate. There is a little bit of a metallic after taste but not to bad.

UPDATED: FEB 4, 2011 A black pour mocha head.aroma and taste of fresh coffee ,cream,some roastyness and chocolate.nice balance of flavors big fresh coffee presence really great java stout better than last year.

On Tap at the Brewpub for State Fair Celebration. Pours Black just like the other ’one offs’. No lingering head to be seen. Lots of brisk coffee in the nose, and flavor follows as well. Good roasted malt and coffee balance. Probably my favorite and most ’drinkable’ one off stout of the night. Still a little too reminiscent of their ’snake pit’ style porter, but a good drink none the less.
