4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 tderoeck (1179) - BELGIUM - FEB 10, 2012
7/II/2012 33cl bottle from Brugs Bierfestival @ home - BB: 17/I/2014 (2012-107)
Clear red to red brown beer, small yellowish head, unstable, bit adhesive. Aroma: fruity, red berries, sour cherries, bretta touch, wood notes. MF: good carbon, light to medium body. Taste: fruity start, bit sweet sugary, strawberries, lemon juice, some tobacco, dry. Aftertaste: lemon juice, very sour but still some sweetness lingering, dry wood notes. Very pleasant easy drinkable beer. Too bad they don’t sell this in Belgium...
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 mikesaum (181) - Ohio, USA - FEB 9, 2012
Pours dark dark red with a smell off white head. Aromas of cherries, slight vanilla, other dark fruits. Taste, sour apples and tart cherries with vanilla undertones, nice sour acidic finish, dry finish with mouth puckering that you can’t prevent. This is delicious.

Bottle pours dark red, clear with nice white head...good amount of carbonation. Aroma very nice, dark fruit, acidity and complex. Taste full of dark fruit, mild sourness, very nice.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 sayravai (4518) - Helsinki, FINLAND - FEB 5, 2012
(Bottled) Clear dark brown with a small head. Mild aroma of wet wood and balsamico, too cold to find any nuances (it’s like 5 degrees C inside the festival hall). Flavor of cherries, leather, vinegar, dried fruit. Refreshing. Light to medium body, tart and acetic palate with low CO2. Quite enjoyable in small doses. 4284
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 JorisPPattyn (6424) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - FEB 4, 2012
Little off-white head, dark red-brown beer, clear. Lactic acid, buttermilk and citruspeel. Sour, lactic, wood, brown sugar. Lipsmacking sourness and acidburn, body thinned by the acids. As good as the old brown that I remember. Because whatever the commercial hoompah says, this is NOT a new beer. It was one of my favourites 25 years ago, already!
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Marheb (416) - Montréal, Quebec, CANADA - FEB 3, 2012

Explosion of flavor on the entire palate. Complex sour flavor yet balanced and very drinkable.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Pailhead (3326) - Plymouth, Michigan, USA - JAN 31, 2012
Bottle: The aroma consists of moderate cherry, light funk, vanilla, lemon, and a touch of oak. It pours a dark copper that is mostly transparent when held to the light. It has a small off-white head that diminishes fairly quickly to a thin film outlined by a thicker ring. The flavor starts with moderate tart cherry. The finish turns sharply sour cherry along with some lemon, light vinegar, vanilla, and a touch of oak. Lightly sweet cherry lingers on the tongue for a little bit. As it warms, the sweetness becomes a little more prominent and mellows the sourness a touch. It’s medium bodied with soft carbonation. Overall, a very nice Flemish Sour, but I wouldn’t put it in the elite class.
