Celebrator has a creamy head of tight bubbles contrasting beautifully with its profound dark robe. It is full-bodied and velvety from half a year’s aging. Although it is strong, it is not overpowering. There is a wonderful and complex balance between the various malts, the alcohol and the subtle hops. A complex fruitiness of roasted malt and whole hop flowers make Celebrator great as a party drink with friends and family at celebrations. Despite its richness, it has a faintly smoky dryness in the finish.

330 ml bottle from Whole Foods Market, Coddingtown, Santa Rosa, CA. Pours a dark brown/burgundy color and a fine long lasting tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, rye, Pumpernickel, pistachios, hazelnuts, toasted grains, prunes, licorice and dark olives. Amazing. Taste is wonderful: Roasted sweetness and dark fruits shine on over an earthy, bready taste in the back. Incredible and refined! Towards the end I even feel a fig flavor counterpoint. Roastiness prevails over the caramel sweetness making this one a fantastically balanced Doppelbock. Medium to big body, not as bold as, let’s say, Andechser’s, but more refined. Alcohol almost unnoticeable. Smooth and silky in the palate. World-class and the best German beer I’ve tasted so far.

Pours black with a light brownish white head. Malt, fruit, some roast aroma. Fruity, surprisingly light palate with lots of sweetness. Treacherously non-alcoholic for the ABV. Overall very nice.

Bottle. Almost opaque black liquid with reddish hue and medium light tan head. Aroma of raw sugar, dried fruit, light caramel, light ash, pumpernickel, bread and floral hops. Taste is light to medium sweet and light bitter with notes of raw sugar, raisins, toffee, chocolate and light ash. Medium to full bodied with medium carbonation. Great doppelbock. Can’t believe I haven’t rated this before.

0,33 l bottle. Black in the glass, small fast fading beige head. Wood, alcohol, malt in a nice composition on the nose. A lot of toasted malt with a pleasant sweetness at the start. Little bit alcoholic, hints of licorice. Long lasting malty mouthfeel. Upper class Bock!

Jag fattar inte varför den fått så högt betyg! Jag har kanske inga referenser avseende denna typ av öl.
