bomber - pours clear copper with soapy white head; aromas of crystal malt, lemony hops and grass; medium body with some buttery hops and sweet bitterness; plenty dry and bitter in the finish; a solid IIPA, but nothing really stands out to me

22oz bottle. Pours a crystal clear, golden-orange colored body with an inch thick, rocky, off-white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a solid lacing. Pretty color to this beer. Aroma is really nice and well rounded. Moderately sweet caramels, some dough, and some chewy toffees make up a really nice malt body. A moderate resiny tropical fruit and citrus hop backing to this. Mango, tangerine, orange, pineapple, and melon all bring out a nice floral aspect. The flavor is more of the same. Solid malt backing with a nice caramel and dough before the resiny, moderate bitterness finishes this off. Tropical and citrusy for a chewy hop bite and a dry, floral finish. Medium length aftertaste after a smooth, medium to full body. Overall, a very nice DIPA with a great balance. Sturdy malts and a good amount of fruity hops made this quite enjoyable. Well done.

22 oz bottle. Clear rusty orange with a sticky off white head that leaves some lacing. Aroma is floral hops, citrus and a sweet sugary caramel. The flavor has a good amount of hop bitterness from start to finish, there is some sweetness in the background just to help balance it out. Typical body, carbonation and mouth feel for an IIPA. Another great, affordable beer from Lagunitas.

Pours clear, golden orange from the 22oz. bottle: Citrus hops (lemon, lime, orange peels), resin, earthy/grassy (earassy), caramel, and honey. Oily and full-bodied, this is solid. Characteristically more on the citrus side rather than on the grassy end. Drinkability: If Lagunitas has swagger this would be the taste of it. My favorite of the brewery to date. #213 on 22112009, DG.

The aroma is filled with caramel, citrus, and hops. In the glass it is a golden pale ale with a crispy white head. Hops immediately caress the tongue with a nice balanced caramelized malt flavors to follow balancing out the beer. I only get a hint of citrus on the palate, grapefruit to be exact. Fantastic double IPA

THOUGHTS: Wow, it wasn’t just another American strong ale from Lagunitas. Nice beer. There was some sweetness, but not as much as in most of their American strong ales, but just barely. TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a cloudy, light to medium, brownish orange with nice carbonation and an average, off-white head that mostly diminished and left good lacing. The aroma was light caramel malt and orange marmalade; moderate to heavy perfumy, piney, resinous, citric (grapefruit and orange), and slightly hops. In other words, it was mostly hops. The initial flavor was sweet and a little bitter; while the finish was rather sweet and rather to very bitter with a fairly long duration. There was orange marmalade, grapefruit, apricot, pine, a little resin, slight pineapple and slight caramel malt. The medium body was slightly syrupy, a bit oily and then a little dry with rather fizzy carbonation and a dry and lightly alcoholic finish.

Bomber from Liquor Depot (Tampa, FL). Pours a generally clear golden amber color with one finger foamy white head that settles slowly. Aroma is sweet and floral with notes of citrus, grapefruit, pine, honey, caramel, some light floral esters. Flavor is sweet and floral with notes of pine, grapefruit, citrus, honey, caramel, light notes of spice. Generally medium body with a pleasing floral hop finish. Nice ale.

Pours a light gold, with a lingering white head. Aroma is floral hops, very nice. Flavor is sweet, some grapefruit, but it has a nice finish. Bitter but smooth. Very good double IPA.
