Poured amber with a rocky head. Sweet citrus notes with a good balance of bitterness. Good beer with seeking out.

From notes (10/27/09). Pours hazy bright amber with a big foamy white head that slowly dissipates to a foamy spotty film and leaves sticky lacing. Aroma was big pine grapefruit and caramel. Taste was bitter and sweet with awesome piny grapefruit and caramel malt. Palate was medium and slick and sticky all at the same time with a dry chalky finish. Really nice wish I could find/get another one!

Bottle from South Bay Drugs: Poured with a delicate and fluffy foamed head while the liquid was a dense golden honey like color. In the nose, there is an overly hopped aroma that smells similar to an imperial red ale because of how strong the hops and malts are balanced, so it earns extra points for smelling so strong. The flavor is metallic and bitter with earthy hops and zesty yeast that when put together tastes a little soapy to me. This is definitely more intense than the little brother of this recipe but overall not much different other than it does taste stronger in all areas.

hazy orange, sudsy off white bubbles for a head, lacy. nose is wheaty, hoppy. flavor of wheat, hops, gumballs. medium bodied, bitter finish. very hoppy. i enjoyed this one very much. reminded me of gumballhead, even though tey are different styles.

Bomber. Hazy copper with a tall stone khaki head. Lots of lacing. Floral, citrusy aroma with a touch of funky yeast. Big hoppy flavor up front with grapefruit and pine but a strong malty sweetness powers through. Caramel and white peppery alcohol notes usher in modestly sweet and unusually long finish for a west coast IIPA.

has a nice darker yellow color. smells piny with some slight black pepper smells. taste just like a lagunitas a distinct but hard to pinpoint malt followed by lots of dried citrus.

Sampled at tasting room. Pale yellow with off-white head. Lemon zest, hops, orange and light malt; creamy, good carbonation, partly sweet and a little sour, bitterness and hops grows to a nice big dry ending. Quite like this compared to some of the other Lagunitas offerings.

Reviewed from notes. Pours a really nice golden color with a white head. The nose is pretty strong and has some really overpowering hops. Loads of citrus as well as a bit of pine. The taste is equally as hoppy and just really brings on the citrus rind and a tiny amount of malt in the background. Good bitterness and a nice body. Another really nice hoppy beer from Lagunitas.
