COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Exploding with hop flavor and aroma, this citrus/piney/floral ale has enough of a malt backbone to stand up to the intense bitterness.

Very hoppy first initial taste. Finishes very strong and bitter. Excellent flavors and blends. It’s complex and very satisfying beer for anyone looking for a beer that doesn’t disappoint. Best Schlafly I’ve ever had.

This is my brother’s favorite beer. I’m not a hop head, but I can respect it. Since it’s released so sparingly, I tried it again this year. Lots of hops and the 7.2% alcohol is easy to recognize. Not a personal favorite, but I’d drink it when released and def. over every mainstream American brew.

Golden with creamy head. Floral, citrus, caramel malt sweet, and grapefruit aroma. Full bodied, flavor like aroma, lemon hop flavor and mild carbonation. Hi hop bitterness with decent balance. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Looks are deceiving! Do not judge this book by its cover. A golden amber coloring that packs a lot of flavor. Strong hops with a smooth finish.

UPDATED: MAY 23, 2012 golden American IPA. Grapefruit, Pine tar resin and a malty backbone that can try to compete. we admire that! Fresh clean tap from Barcade J.C. Don’t need anything else here. strong not harsh with some smoothness and froth.

Clear, golden/orange color. Nice combination of dank and fruitiness with the hops. Lingering bitterness, great mouthfeel, medium body. Great IPA.

Pours a pale golden color with a paper thin head great lacing however. Aroma is dank, great in yo face hop aroma and nothing else, this is my kind of ipa! Taste is different than what I’m used to. Hops are right up front but it finishes with guava or some sort of tropical fruit, different and I like it! Smooth and refreshing, I really like this different ipa!

Bottle dated 5/1/12. Appearance: clear, golden orange with quickly dissipating white head. Aroma: Citrus/grapefruit, floral/honeysuckly, touch of biscuity/breadiness. Taste - Nice floral hops begin, leading into graduating piney bitterness from middle thru the end; some breadiness in the middle; finishing well bitter then lingering with grapefruit juice and pith/even that floral honeysuckle. Mouthfeel: light to medium creamy texture, but with medium carbonation that works very well. Overall: I’m VERY IMPRESSED with this beer. It’s got all the great attributes that I love in IPAs with a slightly different (more bready/yeasty) backbone that offers a new dimension.

Amazing beer! On cask for the second year in a row, served at the Schlafly Taproom. Orange and clear, head and lace were so-so, but then it’s on cask so I didn’t expect a foam-fest. Monstrously hoppy smell and taste, with lots of crispy pine bite. You can smell and taste the hop oils in this one. Grapefruit follows. Body is wonderful, medium, perfectly carbonated (more than you’d expect from a cask, actually). This is one of Schlafly’s great beers, definitely a good one for hop heads!

Perfect IPA in my book. One of the few beers that I take a sip of and say "wow, thats just right". Great dry hop taste. Very smooth. Lots of grapefruit and pine but very smooth. This is what I think of when it is 90+ degrees and I want a nice hoppy beer.
