Dark pour, draft. Aroma has some bittersweet chocolate and light coffee. A hint of bourbon but is pretty light overall. Body is a bit thin and the flavor has very little bourbon. Coffee and chocolate and roasted malts with a hint of bourbon and wood.

Sampled on 11/20/2009. This Imperial Stout pours a eclipse black color from a 22 oz bottle. Medium sized tan foamy head with nice retention and decent lacing. The aroma is oak, chocolate, coffee and some tobacco. A medium to full bodied Imperial Stout. The malts are chocolate, coffee and roasty. Nice hints of tobacco, roasty malt and wood. The hops are earthy. A nicely balance, full flavored, not over the top Imperial Stout. The barrel aging seems to mute, blend and mellow the flavors here. Very nice. Hides the alcohol very well. Mouthfeel is full and round. The Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

On tap at Blue Palms. Pours an oily black with a fleeting tan head. Smells really hot up front with additional notes of baker’s cocoa and coffee. Tastes much the same with added notes of caramel, and vanilla. Improves after it breathes and warms a little, but remains a bit too hot and sugary for me. Time is probably on this beer’s side.

Bottle from HH22, thanks tim... Pours a nice black color with a think khaki colored head. Nice coffee, chocolate, barrell aged aroma... Taste reminds me of a imperial porter... Nice coffee, barrel aged bourbon, roasted malts taste.... I hate to add to the hype of a beer but this is another winner by FW... The texture is perfect....small bubbles that just sit on your tounge... way to easy to drink for an eleven percent beer. Thanks tim for a great beer

After my first taste, I was sure I was not going to like this. Then I let it sit for a few minutes and I was happily surprised to find that I wound up enjoying it more. Pours near-black with a tan head. Sweet with cream/milk, vanilla, wood, lots of coffee. Not exceptionally aged, just moderate bourbon essence. Slightly astringent. Long finish.

Bottle shared by nimbleprop: Pours an oily opaque black with dark mahogany edges and thin wispy off-white head. Aroma of fresh grapefruity hops and sweet dark caramel with vanilla bourbon complexity. Starts with a pretty good dark caramel and chocolate flavor with a nice vanilla bourbon balance and doughy yeasty balance before a slightly warming thinner bittersweet finish. A decent bourbon barrel aged imperial stout, but seems a little sugary and young.

On tap at Bailey’s Taproom in Portland, OR. Colour... black with no head; not even while it was coming out of the tap! Nose... day old coffee with a touch of milk, vanilla, marshmallow and a bit o’ booze. Palate... light CO2, sweet, gently coffee flavours, chickory, burnt toffee, Nips (coffee falvoured boiled sweets) and a very long finish.
