4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 GriffinAvenue (396) - Winchester, USA - JUN 15, 2009
Bottle. Tomato juice dark red coloring. No head. Cherry mash. Yeasty. Cheek-puckering sour. More malty and flavorful than I expected given the aroma. Average body and sustaining sour, bitter, fruity finish. Unbelievably nice.

Bottle that I drank with Max and Andy prior to our VerMontreal trip. Pours a deep garnet ruby with a thin pink head. Big and funky on the nose, a good hefty cherry aroma, full of pits and stems, tart cherry skin. Medium bodied, big bold carbonation, cheesy funk right away, more funk and cherries. Long acid, funk and cherry. Lingering barnyard funk, more tart cherry skins. Lovely, classic stuff.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Idiosynkrasie (532) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - MAY 29, 2012
375ml bottle. Clear dark red with huge, rapidly collapsing bubbling pink head. Cherry aroma has a wonderful balance between sweet- and tartness, some leather. Taste has a bearable tartness, a lasting dry strand, nice fizzy carbonation.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Lowenbrau (350) - SPAIN - MAY 25, 2012
375ml bottle. Sour and cherries aromas. Pours bright red, some hazy, with little pinkish head, vanishing, and almost no lacing. Light body and high carbonation. Taste is cherries, very sour but quite balaced, not too agressive flavours (bearing in mind this is a real sour beer style, of course). Aftertaste is long, dry and some sweet. Very enjoyable.

Cloudy and very very red beer with a small off-white foam. Aroma and taste is very sour with yeast notes. Much cherries but also madly acidic.

Some days just keep getting better. Bright hazy ruby. Instantly disappearing head to lace that is gone just as quickly. Nose tart vinegar and subtle spice. Mouth is dusty dry. Light tart and musty and lovely. Sandpaper and dust leftovers. Beautifully understated and complex.

Bottled on 11/28/2006 - Pour a dark murky burgundy with slight carbonation, which quickly dissipates and little to no carbonation through the drink. Smell is upfront sour/cherry and funk. Medium body with taste notes of sour cherry and oak with a slight dry finish. Awesome.

bottled on dec 14th 2007. pours ruby with deep cherry and cranberry color. light velvet head that quickly gives way. light sour cherry, vinegar, hints of grape. light vinegar up front that gives way to a nice puckering cherry flavor with light oak notes. not to much funk, actually, very little. a hint of lemon in the finish. a little puckering at the finish as well. this is blended so well that everything compliments each other. light and crisp, very light carbonation. amazing, this is one of the best krieks i have had. the cherry flavor is perfect and blends well. nothing stands out because it is blended so well. amazing. i cannot wait to see what time does to this. Bottle. Cheers Suprchunk. Hazy bright red color with a medium pink head that quickly disappears, holding on to the edge of the glass. Funky nose, bright sugar, sour cherry fruit. The taste is medium tart with a healthy dose of barnyard. The middle is supported by a pleasant, sweet cherry fruit flavor. Very clear, direct flavor. The finish is tart and slightly acidic. Light body, easy to drink. Overall, a very pleasant drink.
