The Black Damnation series is a dark twist of Urban’s mind. His idea is to realize a dozen beers with the use of Black Albert, and over a period of two years, that are as black as hell, filthy rich in the nose and with a massive taste.

Black Damnation II is yet another blend with the use of Hel & Verdoemenis from Brouwerij De Molen. This time a level more complex than BD I. 50% of Black Albert was used that matured for a while on whole coffee beans out of a craft Columbian coffee plantation. 25% of H&V was used that aged for 6 months on JD barrels at Struise. Another 25% of Cuvée Delphine was used.

Beware: labels are the same, taste however isn’t. Some bottles are recognizable because of he handwritten 2 on them.

UPDATED: NOV 29, 2012 22$ Bottle ordered from belium website. Pours a velvety oily smooth dark molasses with some orange red hues on the top and bottom. Big fat aromas that grab your nosey attention of coffee beans enjoying the company of burnt malts, chocolate, wood, slight hint of whiskey, and brown sugar. The flavors, I’m just blown away. This is already one of the top coffee stouts I’ve ever had. Thick and oily on the ole grub taster. The coffee really moves over the palate and has a big party inviting his other buddies, burnt mic malty, chocolate sue, Frank Mc woody, Stacy brown sugar, and Sam dark fruity. Very bitter with the mixes of coffee and hops which go mostly hidden as well as the high abv (mostly only though the nose on the way down). Medium sweet and very complex. Worth waiting for but not 20$, I’d say 10$.

The beer pours deep brown with a dark tan head. The aroma has roasty malt, oak, whiskey, anise, dark chocolate and is quite dry. It has a full rich body with a mild amount of carbonation. The flavor starts with roast, anise, cocoa, raisins, dates and some alcohol. The finish has dark fruits and anise. Thanks to gregwilsonstl for sharing this one.

Bottle shared at tasting. Thanks Jon! Pitch black with a small beige head. Strong espresso notes on the nose with milk chocolate. Lots of coffee and 70% cacao on the palate with some sweetness. Also a bit of light sourness as it warms up. The coffee really stands out for sure.

Pitch black color. Thin dark brown color. Fairly innocuous nose that is sour a bit of mocha. The mouth is full bodied slightly sour low carbonation. Not bad.

Poured into teku showing pitch black with a ring of latte colored foam. The nose shows a lot of sweet latte notes. The palate is medium bodied and moderately carbonated. The first impression shows flavors of espresso and mocha. A strong alcohol spice permeates throughout the whole beer.

Pour @ Borefts Beer Festival 2015 thanks to some dude. Cant remember who to be honest haha. Pours pitch black with a small brown head. Aromas of dark fruits, light coffee, chocolate, roast, malt. Taste is caramel, fudge, light coffee, chocolate, roast, dark fruits. Not much "bomb" about the coffee in this but still pretty good.

750ml bottle. Thx Andrew! Hefty dark brown hue. Big chocolate taste. Sort of a dry, sugared black malt taste plus some coffe & toasty notes. Better as it warmed.

33cl bottle (2010 vintage), served in tulip @ Kulminator. Pours black with a gorgeous tan head. Both aroma and taste are chocolate, coffee, dried fruits and dark fruits. The dark malt character is not too heavy, seems rather sweet malts. That really helps to balance the beer. Moderate bourbon heat along with pleasant coffee bitterness on the palate. Full mouthfeel, very good carbonation. Magnificent brew.
