Founders flagship beer. Dirty Bastard is an absolute beautiful beer to behold. Dark ruby in color and brewed with ten varieties of imported malts this beer continuously lives up to its reputation as a bold and powerful ale. Dirty Bastard is complex in the finish with hints of smoke and peat paired with a malty richness, finalized with a good bit of hop attitude. This beer “ain’t fer the wee lads”

Fra flaske på Cardinal: herlig aroma av svisker, dadler og gammel tokayer. Nydelig smak med stor munnfylde. Et koseøl som skal nytes i små mengder (temperert) i godt lag f.eks med blåskimmelost.

Bottle. Dark brown, hazy, small to average fully diminishing light brown head. Moderate to full, malty and sweetish aroma, some caramel and dark bread and with light dark fruitiness with light hoppyness. Body is medium to full, malty and sweetish, some caramel and light dark bread, light hoppyness and fruitiness with light alcohol. Finish is average, malty and sweetish, some caramel and light roasted malt, light metal, light hoppyness and some alcohol. Your typical Scotch Ale - really nothing special. For those with sweet tooth.

Clear deep amber nutty color with a fine off white head. Looks really nice. Lovely aroma. Fruity, raisins, toffee and caramel. Full to medium body. A bit sweet, but not to sweet. Stays on the right side. A bit oily texture. This beer really invades your mouth, and stays there. Lovely. Toffee, caramel, fruity, raisins and prunes.

Bottle from Alko. A bit hazy ruby coloured beer. Sweet maltiness, some toffee, ripe fruits and hops. I feel it’s a bit like a barley wine and disappointed a little. Had better and more interesting Scotch ales in Italy.

A very dark brown beer with a weak and light brown head. The nose is complex and quite sweet, caramel, raisins, strawberries, wood, generic dried fruits, hint of roasted bread and chocolate. Taste isn’t so sweet than aroma. Taste has dried fruits, raisins, dry wood, bread, clear and nice bitterness in the end. Even the more sweetness of fruits could be there. Medium+ bodied, low carbonation, easy to drink, anyway. Very complex, at least the aroma. Good beer.

Pours a dark ruby brown with very small thin head which lingers. On the nose there is dark dried fruits like raisins and prunes, brown sugar, caramel, a bit of smoke, resin and wood. Taste initially is highly sweet which lasts throughout but is balanced with enough bitterness to make it work. Quite a thick and oily mouth feel, rather nice!

330ml bottle poured in a snifter glass. A: Pours a slightly cloudy dark amber color forming a medium thin bubbled tan head. Load retention and only few spotty lacings left in the glass. A very thin layer remains on the top for a long time S: Sweet and roasted. Strong notes, toffee, caramel, brown sugar, chocolate and oak. Caramel malts, roasted malts, dark fruits like grapes and raisins. Flowery hops T: Sweet upfront. Strong notes of toffee and caramel. Notes of oak, chocolate, roasted malts, brown sugar, dark fruits. The sweetness is short and in the very beginning. Quickly, it becomes quite dry and malty. Some earthiness and some citrus hops can be felt too in the end M: Medium body and medium to low carbonation. Very smooth and slightly molasses in the mouth. Malty, toffee and woody aftertaste O: Good drinkability. Another Founders masterpiece. It sounds like they can’t make a mistake... [ BA Review @ 12/27/2013 ]

Cola brown beer with a small head. Bread and caramel on the nose. Medium bodied. Sweet bread, caramel, a hint of anis, some herbal notes. Quite good. Just a little thin for the ABV but is more drinkable this way.

Pours a darker brown with medium head. Aroma is caramel and roasty. Some sweetness in the background. Taste is on the sweeter side with background hints of hops. Aftertaste is also sweet with more carel and hops.
