4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 johno (185) - Galveston, Texas, USA - JAN 29, 2012Pours an utter black, dark brown head, great lacing if you’re into that sort of thing. Aroma isn’t explosive, but deep and complex; dark and roasty, has an inkiness to it, dirt, black fruit.. quite dark. Quite viscous and creamy, palate-coating, with a distinct, expressive finish, balanced, bitter and sweet elements, dark chocolate, dark fruit, vanilla in the finish, delicious, finish lasts, warming but not overheated, well-made... excellent.

Opaque, dense brown-black with a huge, billowy, creamy tan head and excellent lacing.
Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, toast, peaches, apple and smokey coffee.
Taste of roasted malt, wood smoke, roasted coffee, cocoa, yeast and fruit.
Medium/full body and high/medium carbonization.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 DesertDevil (195) - Arizona, USA - MAY 22, 2013
12-oz. bottle. Nice aroma of dark roasted malt, rhubarb, a bit of a charcoal, and some burnt molasses. Pours a deep black with a two-finger, smooth tan head that retains its shape for quite a while. Very dry roasted taste with biscuit and a definite ash note. A plum favor emerges near the end. Medium body with a smooth mouthfeel and extremely dry finish. Good stout, but the over-the-top roasty start hurts it.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 yngwie (10760) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - MAY 20, 2013
Bottle, at Bakgården Både &. It pours a small, dense, light tan head over a pitch black body. The aroma is roasted and sweetish, with coffee and a lightly piney, grassy touch. The flavor is on the sweet side, roasted and coffeeish, with some bitterness trying to bring balance. Full body, some warmth, and quite dry-ish. Lasting finish with the roasted malts and sweetness dominating. Nice. 130520

Nice and roasty aroma with dark chocolate, coffee, sweet caramel, and vanilla. On the palate, there is a roasty, bitter astringency that is nicely balanced out by sweetness on the end. Little to no alchol presence. A very solid stout.
