COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Barley, wheat, rye and oats provide the foundation for this big stout. Layers of complex flavors slowly emerge from the glass: espresso, roasted fig, creme brulee. Belgian yeast provides a plum-like fruitiness, noble German hops reveal spicy, herbal notes, while the rich, velvety mouthfeel mellows to a dry, smoky finish. Such a robust beer stands well by itself, but also makes a wonderful end-note to any rich, indulgent meal. Discover the secret of combining this roasty ale to sweets, by pairing with dark chocolate or caramel, or even by pouring it over ice cream.

Pours an utter black, dark brown head, great lacing if you’re into that sort of thing. Aroma isn’t explosive, but deep and complex; dark and roasty, has an inkiness to it, dirt, black fruit.. quite dark. Quite viscous and creamy, palate-coating, with a distinct, expressive finish, balanced, bitter and sweet elements, dark chocolate, dark fruit, vanilla in the finish, delicious, finish lasts, warming but not overheated, well-made... excellent.

Rich malt aroma. Starts dry, becoming more complex and silky with malt, caramel, fig, nice nobel type bittering hop character to complement maltiness along with slight smokiness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

(Jomfruland, 18.07.14)

355 ml bottle @ home, July 08, 2014. Beer from a tulip glass. Beer bought @ "Vinmonopolet Vika", Oslo. Black in color with a beige head and medium carbonation. A bit alcohol up front. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate and some soy sauce and dark dried fruits. Tastes malt and coffee and has a bit crisp and bittersweet touch. Nice for us who love coffee. Probably even better in taste if served with some dark chocolate or a chocolate cake made of real Belgian chocolate. Tastes

Bottle from Vinmonopolet, Kvadrat. Pours very dark ruby with a big creamy tanned head. Nice aroma of roasted malts, red ripe fruits, soy, liquorice and chocolate. Smoooth and full bodied. Taste is rich deep red fruits, lots of liquorice, lovely late night beer.

A very bitter almost herbish imperial stout. Pours black with good mocha head and lacing. Thick but slick texture that doesn’t lean too much on the side of creamy or syrupy. Dark bitter chocolate and poignant roast. Light booze and a hint of caramel. There is some light sweetness on finish. Bottle.

Pour from a 12oz bottle. Creamy tan head. Thick black pour. Roasted malt and coffee nose. Big bitter coffee flavor offset by a strong amount of malt. Really nice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
