COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hop Dam has been a long time in the works, and its design required us to build a large stainless steel hop dam for our kettle, just for this beer! It was worth all the effort, because this beer is extremely hoppy and very satisfying, using 50% more hops than our Mean Manalishi Double IPA, which was voted Best Double IPA In The World by the US Beer Tasting Championships. Hop Dam is 10% alcohol by volume, and really hoppy, with a bitterness level that is very high but refined and therefore refreshing – its like kissing a hop!! Along with all the standard hop additions, it is also mash-hopped, first-kettle-hopped, and dry-hopped!!! Hop Dam is a 100% American-style IPA, dominated by the top-rated, assertive and refined Amarillo hops, along with lots of aroma and flavor from Columbus, and Cascade, and the wonderful Summit hops – the very special dwarf hop plant picked by hand, and sought-after for its great flavor and aroma. These hops work great together, and make Hop Dam TRIPLE IPA our new standard for hoppy beers!! It will be available for only a few months, so get Hop Dam while it lasts!

Just a bit hazy copper colour, very small head. Incredibly strong flavoured and still quite balanced -for a hop head- richly fruity and very malty. Exceptional beer. I forgot to say very much liquorice cough medicine

Clear orange gold pour, with a white head. Very nice aroma of tropical fruit, juicy hops, citrus, and floral. Taste is much sweeter, lots caramel malt, citrusy, and pine.

A nice orange color with some ruby. A lot of citrus smells especially orange. Nice citrus flavors as well, good sweetness a little honey. Hop bitter is pretty biting but tolerable. Some malty flavors in the middle. With some grapefruit and bitter bread after. Pretty good overall, a little too bitter for my taste but the abv is hidden well. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle: The aroma consists of heavy caramel, toffee, and aged citrus hops. It pours a hazy amber with a small off-white head that quickly fades to a thin film outlined by a thicker ring. There’s some thin sporadic webbing left on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with moderate caramel, toffee, and fruit. There’s moderate orange in the middle. The finish has aged citrus hops and peach. It’s medium bodied with mild carbonation and a somewhat soft mouthfeel.

bomber - pours medium amber with faintly orange head and great lacing. Nose is caramel and grapefruit with earthy notes. Flavor adds intense hop flavors beyond my knowledge. Very hoppy, but a detectable sweetness. Quickly becoming a sipper of a beer. So far this is my favorite from Hoppin’ Frog.

Bottle from Cask Pub. Pours hazy orangey golden with a big head. Refreshing citrussy hop aromas followed by good fruity hop bitterness. Delicious and with a good backbone

From a bomber with no date into a pint. Pours a thick golden. But with a bunch of cloudy floaties. Mouthfeel is very thick but not too sticky to make it a barley wine. Pours with only a inch of thick white head. No lacing whatsoever. Aroma is flat out hops and almost a rice wine with plum aroma. Taste is almost white wine with grapes. But of course with an extreme amount of hops. Very good iiipa. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Smak och doft av passionsfrukt, jäst, humle men en torr grapebeska som klippar ihop tungan. Torr och sträv.

Pours a hazy golden yellow, that is, until large chunks of something (yeast?) come barreling out of the bottle and land in the glass and it becomes very hazy, with lots of floating chunks in it. Small head. Aroma is very hoppy. Flavor is dominated by hop bitterness, extremely citrusy, with some malt sweetness in the background. Quite a resinous mouthfeel, with a bitter finish. As hop bombs go, this one isn’t bad, though I might suggest the brewer try to filter out more of the yeast--it’s rather unsightly and almost made me stop drinking what turned out to be a pretty good beer.
