4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 dreadnord (1009) - San Diego, California, USA - JUN 24, 2012This beer pours thicker than any beer I've seen to date. Literally looks like chocolate syrup or motor oil. Eat your heart out older visc. Thick and dark with a filthy little brown head. Looks amazing. Nose is rich milk chocolate, hints of coffee, toffee, molasses and a little pine cone for good measure. Taste is sweet with a great well balanced bitterness that stays on through the aftertaste. Mouthfeel is decadently rich, creamy and soft with a lightly fizzy edge. Heavy body is putting it lightly. It's big and I love it. The finish seems to carry on forever. No shortage of taste. I didn't think it could get better than BORIS but they killed it.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Brouwerij (501) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - JUN 8, 2013
Bottle. Pours a very dark brown with minimal brown head. Settles very quickly with no lacing, as expected with the high ABV. Aroma is heavily roasted, slight coffee, oatmeal, chocolatey, quite sweet, some dark stone fruit, very mild alcohol. Flavor is roasted malt, chocolate, mild to moderate hop bitterness, mild alcohol with a deeply roasted, dark malt finish. Good balance of roast and hops, usually not a fan of detectable hops in stouts but this is tastefully done. Palate is pretty thoroughly ruined/saturated. Soft to moderate carbonation, full body, and smooth texture. A very dark, roasted, rich, strong, delicious imperial stout. People have been raving about this beer, really glad I got to try it, it lives up to its reputation.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 ExpendableHero (667) - Florida, USA - JUN 4, 2013
This was quite solid. Inky black beer with a frothy, brown head. Strong aromas of dark coffee. Tastes of bitter, dark coffee, burnt coffee beans, and some dark chocolate. Some hints of oatmeal and booze too. Dry, with a chalky/bitter finish. A bit too palate destroying for my taste, but this was still very good.
