COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Available filtered in 330ml bottles.
"Named after Thorfin Hausakliuuf, the seventh earl of Orkney, this reddish coloured ale has an intense vinous nose, is rich and satiny in the mouth with a long dry finish and deep rich fruity notes. Described as ’Satiny smooth in the mouth, deceptively light and dangerously drinkable’."

10.02.2012. 0,33l Bottle. Vinmonopolet Bergen - Valkendorfsgate. Dark brown colour with a thin layered whide head. Rich malty body with lots of good malty aroma. Good strength with very good balance between alcohol, sweetness and bitterness. Very nice malt flavours. Rich, sweet and very smooth. This is really a very good beer!

Bottled sample. Amber in colour with low to moderate carbonation. Aromas are of wine gum candies, orchard fruit, fat pale malts, and a bit of toffee. Tart apple upfront on the palate, along with dark caramel, chocolate covered raisins, sharp grains, and (alcohol) hot black pepper on the finish. Medium bodied. A bit too fruit forward for my taste, and the alcohol came through a bit stronger than 8.5%.

Caramel color with tan one finger head.Dark fruit notes. Strong sour medicine like taste. Deceptively clean on the finish. Some sourness in the middle. I also sense some apple in the taste. It kind of comes right at you but then mellows the more you drink it. Will warm you on a cool day.

Poured from a bottle into a stemless wine glass. Appearance is dark toffee with a beige head of foam. Head retention is middle of the road. Aromatics are drowned out in the burn of rubbing alcohol as it reaches the nose. Upon the first sip, I get notes of a liquor I can’t quite place. Its like a mix of red wine and Bourbon. Alcohol burn is overly evident in the swallow. This beer needs about ten years ot cool off before drinking. The half a bottle I had in my glass was more than enough to satisfy me.

Pours deep copper with about four fingers white head. Smells fruity and estery. Lots of citrus. Malty. Taste is also very malty, very smooth mouth feel. Very enjoyable.

Bottle. A very interesting brew. Dark fruity charactoristics. Sweet, but not toomuch with even a hint of chocolate in the background. Some bitterness with tangy carbonation and alcohol. Flavors grow more intense and complex as it warms up. Rich dry finish. Tasty.

Sweet and fruity aroma with hints of flowers. Great pour with a golden reddish color with an off white thin head. Pours to a thick head that thins quickly. Slightly bitter taste with honey and fruity hints. Has a full bodied taste and soft texture. It is not overly fizzy but has good carbonation. Finishes smooth with no bitter aftertaste. Definately a good overall beer that has a great strong taste that pairs well with my hot wings and cheeseburger.
