0,25l bottle as gift from Denmark. Opaque, black color with medium, creamy, dark brown head, which disappears quickly. Sweet, alcoholly odor followed by roasty, smoked malt flavours. The aroma is incredibly smoky and roasty. At the beginning it’s sweet and caramelly, but after the firs impressions it’s dry and tastes like a roast pork. It’s definitelly made with a lot of smoked malt, which causes this meet flavour. It must had a lot of chocolate malt too which makes the color so black, but it doesn’t make the beer sour and bitter. Alcohol and honey flavours also appears. Dry, intensive and complex taste, nothing can dominate, but all the three basic flavours (sweet, sour, bitter) appears. Full bodied with oily texture and light carbonation. Roast pork finish. It’s an interesting beer. Surprisingly complex, incredibly oily and full bodied. This beer is dominated by the malty flavours, and from this view it’s the opposite of the Mikkeller Black Hole, which is a "hoppy imperial stout". It’s a concentrated beer, 25cl is totally enough. The alcohol content isn’t too high, and it can’t be felt as dominant in the aroma. The texture, the body, and the malty flavours make this beer this rich and concentrated.

Tap at Fermentoren, Copenhagen. Poured a dark mahogany with a glass hugging tan head. The aroma is big liqourice leading to a strong bitter, liqourice flavour. It’s like liquid liqourice in fact. A superb taste. Don’t drink this in pints :-)

Black pour with a khaki head. Roasted malt, cocoa, and coffee. Some light char, ash, and alcohol. Sweet dark fruit, licorice, and molasses. There’s a bit of roasted malt bitterness to the flavor. Slight sweetness of dark fruit and licorice. A bit of molasses, cocoa, coffee, and light booze.

On tap @ Mikkeller & Friends. Pours black with a finger of reddish tan head. Aroma of coffee, brown sugar, roasted malt, slightly subdued, could be because of low temperature. Taste is initial bitterness with a thick balancing brown sugar and alcohol sweetness before the long coffee bitter finish. Body is creamy and full with soft carbonation. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Big, black, strong, and oily. This is a beautiful beer and there is no other way to say it. This is a whopper of a stout and there is not a bad thing I can say about it.

250mL bottle, courtesy of gramity (thanks a lot, Graham), pours jet black with a small brown head. Aroma is super roasted, with some black licorice, burnt dark fruits, hints of dark chocolate, and some sweet candied notes buried underneath. Flavour is very "dark" tasting, with rich dried dark fruits, roasted malt, some black licorice, and bitter dark chocolate. There is a good dose of hops in there as well which no doubt contribute to the astringency. Finishes on fairly astringent notes of bitter dark chocolate and black licorice. Extremely full-bodied and viscous, with a very sticky palate. Really well-balanced, without any jagged edges, and with loads of depth. Excellent stuff.
