This beer is wonderful. I shared a bottle of this with my husband, BeerBaron617, last night, and it was almost divine. For the style, A+, for all of beer kind, A. Honestly, I don’t know how you can get too much better than this. It was incredibly balanced and refreshing.
It’s a lovely apricot/peach yellow hue in the glass with a tight white head. Smells fruity of the previously mentioned fruits, as well as some light floral aromas - possibly orange blossom...lightly grassy/reedy, and overall refreshing to the nose.
High carbonation when it hits the tongue, mild mouth feel, and quite refreshing - go on, take another sip, gulp it down for that matter, it’s delicious.

Minty aroma. Taste a little bit spicy though plain. Little carbonized. Don't quite like the flavor.

I like these breweries plenty but I wouldn’t normally drink a saison, I do like the lighter ones, not a huge spice fan. This particular distinction is distributed by Victory in a 12oz. bottle. Pours a light gold with a little carbonation. Beer strongly floral, spice and clove on the nose they all combine and almost smell minty to me, yes I’m serious, in that cough drop cooling way. Translates to the taste but lighter and not strong. Floral with the cloves and spices being lighter backdrops, carbonation on tounge. This pretty easy to drink but I’m not a fan of the style.

Draught @ Lou’s Beer Garden. Hazy straw. Very spicy rosemary coriander cardamom. Soft body with lots of spice and fruitiness.

Beautiful golden pour with ample white head. That first whiff definitely lets you know there are herbs in there - heavy on the sage. And that sage is the first thing that hits you when you take a drink...followed by yeast and a bit of thyme. Not very fruity - almost a bit woody and dry as far as saisons go...but very light and smooth.

Seemed like an interesting collaboration, especially intrigued by the rosemary. Honey-colored with just a ring of head. The nose has lots of the spices over a yeasty underbelly. Definitely get rosemary and sage. The taste follows with even more different herbs coming through. A little bit sweet even in the middle. Maybe a tad too carbonated for my taste in saisons, but crisp nonetheless. Seems like it would pair very well with apples and brie. Spicy, complex saison, Nice in the right amount...as my wife says, "A Picnic Beer".

Pours a golden copper with a thick fluffy head leaving great lacing. Highly herbal aroma sage and thyme upfront with a citric note in the back. Taste follows, herbs with a citric bite. Smooth and refreshing, great beer!

Pours crystal clear pale yellow with a thick white foamy head. Smells extremely herbal. Tastes herbal....more bitter than I would guess. This is not like the saisons I usually love...still this a well done, different brew.

Just released, I’ve been super anxious to crack a bottle of this Victory Brewing Company Saison du Buff. This beer was first released two years ago as a collaboration brew between Dogfish Head, Stone, and Victory Brewing. At the time, the beer was never released in Connecticut because of some awful hiccups in the distribution network. This year Victory Brewing did a batch of it’s own, for release during it’s normal distribution network.
Just arrived this morning, I immediately set a bottle aside so that I could try one tonight. The Saison du Buff pours a bright golden yellow color with an egg-shell white foam. There’s plenty of carbonation, but the foam never gets more than one finger thick. While the initial carbonation fades back, there’s a persistent thin film of foam throughout the entire glass of beer. There is also a ton of bubbles rising from the bottom of the glass for the duration of my beer.
On the nose, there’s very little hops, an unexpected surprise considering the three breweries involved in this collaboration. There’s a very nice complex variety of spice on the nose, with just a touch of malts. On the palate, the Saison du Buff is relatively light-bodied, with plenty of spice, and a clean dry finish.
Despite the name, I really didn’t expect a very saison-esque brew. There have been dozens of American saisons that I’ve tried, always falling a bit short of the Belgian versions. By definition, a Saison should be relatively light and easy to drink. This Saison du Buff has been one of the two best American Saisons I’ve had to date, only competing with the Goose Island "Sofie". I like the Saison du Buff so much, that I’ve already emailed my salesman asking for another couple cases. At the very least, I’ll buy a whole case for myself!

Fizzy yellow beer with a foamy soapy head. Aroma of herbs and lemon with a funk as well. Taste is sweet and yeasty, lots of peppery sage, lemon, and some of the other spices are a bit less pronounced. All around good beer, but really really fizzy and foamy.
