4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
On tap at Novare Res. Best beer from Marshall Wharf yet. Ace hole is mind blowing. Pours an innocent looking amber yellow. Thin quickly dissipating head. Aroma is your first hint of whatís to come...thereís a hint of sweetness and fruitiness to the aroma. Then one sip, and BAM this is an IPA made with Sorachi Ace hops. The taste is out of this world. Itís like a hoppy mango slice with awesome dusted on top. Dare I say my new favorite beer from Maine? Simply incredible.

Can (thanks asheft!) - Amber beer with an off-white head. Nice citrus aroma! Flavour is bitter and crisp. Decent citrus hoppy note, some grapefruit hints. Medium carbonation.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Can from Bier Cellar Portland
Deep golden color with a huge frothy white head that persists forever. The citrus and earthy tropical hop notes seem to clash a little. Decent brew, but probably nothing Iíd seek out again.

What happens when you combine my favorite hop with my least favorite hop. Well you get an average pale ale. Citrus and tropical fruits with a weird buttery chardonay characteristic. Grainy malts and drinkable but meh.

473 ml can via asheft (thanks!), served cold in a tulip glass. Clear amber with a nice orange-tan head. Rich orange, tropical fruits, sweet caramel malt, more citrus, quite nice. Medium+ body with fairly full carbonation. More juicy, fruity hops, oranges, tropical fruits, caramel maltiness; off-dry with decent bitterness and a long, fruity, caramel finish. Good stuff!

Draft in Bar Harbor. Pours cloudy golden with off-white head. Good lacing. Nose is citrus and some grain. Taste is nice and sweet with citrus. A little watery in the mouth feel.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
[can from Bier Cellar]
Lime and pineapple aroma with sweet base malt, faint caramel and a bit of "young" sulfur. Hazy dark copper under a persistent, lacy, bubbly blanket. Potent lime and butterscotch (Ringwood?) flavour with a touch of sulfury popcorn and a slick caramel feel that is most likely diacetyl. The combination of fermentation-derived and hops flavours are unique and refreshingly novel. Medium body, medium to high carbonation, faintly lingering bitter finish.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a deep golden color with two fingers of sticky eggshell foam. The nose is a mixture of citrus, mango, pine, toasted caramel malt and a touch of cotton candy sweetness. The palate follows with some bright hop presence with notes of citrus, spicy earth, some tropical fruit and lots of underlying toasted grain and sweet malt... lingering bitterness helps clean it up a bit.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Can, thanks to JBPortland! Pours clear orange, medium puffy off-white head, creamy with nice lacing. Aroma is citra baby, mango, grapefruit, dank pine needles, butter. Flavor is similar, a bit buttery with tropical fruit bombs, some pine as well. Not sure what the Sorachi Ace is contributing per se, but this is a pretty tasty beer, better than its ratings. Light sweet and light bitter, with no harshness. Medium body and some creaminess. This is tasty.
