COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Launch into the exquisite flavors of bourbon with splashes of vanilla. Watch for currents of dark chocolate and dried fruit. Generous amounts of hops and malts make for a smooth journey from start to finish. Decadent desserts and aged cheeses make superb companions.

This beer is AMAZING. It has a vanilla aroma. You really can smell the bourbon. It is a beautiful dark brown color with hints of red. The cream colored head last and sticks beautifully to the edge of the glass as if to count the number of sips you have taken. It starts off with a very strong complex flavor but isn't too heavy. For an 11% beer (sorry barley wine) it doesn't taste strongly if alcohol. It finishes cleanly with a taste of vanilla. This is one of my all time favorite can't get enough of it beers. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottled 07/29/13. (aged review) This was poured into a snifter. The appearance was a soft burnt brown color with a thin wisp of a white little head. Delicate messy lacing wove around the glass. The smell started off with dried dark fruits. Sweetness from the dried dark fruits rolls into a nice dried woody aroma. The flavor takes in the dried woody flavor with a nice sweet dying bourbon flavored dark fruitiness. Dry woody aftertaste and a semi-sticky finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a decent sipping to sessionable quality about it. Carbonation has definitely died off. Very dry and pounding on my tongue. Overall, its still a good Barleywine leaning towards the English side of the wheelhouse. I’d like to try again fresher. Still,, I believe this one aged nicely.

Pours hazy copper with a big tan head. Nose is strange for a barley wine withfruit and tart notes far more akin to a saison. Oak and fruit hit hard on the front and blends to a whiskey accented charge of vanilla, hops, and barely onthe back. FFinish is long and smooth. Great beer.

Pours a clear dark garnet/amber with a fluffy light tan head. Bourbon and toffee aroma. Taste is roasted malt, molasses, dark chocolate, vanilla, dried dark fruit, bourbon and a noticeable hop bitterness. Quite good, but hoppier than a barleywine should be.

750 ml bottle poured into a tulip glass. The beer is a clear copper color with a big head of khaki foam. Lots of head on this beer. The aroma has burnt toffee, caramel, wood, some raisin. The taste has a lot of sweetness to it and a bigger boozy character. Big body and low to medium carbonation.

Aroma of dark fruit, sweet malt and booze. Decent, but I could have used more. Beautiful looking dark brown nearly black color with a white head of foam that shows a striking contrast. Definitely tastes like bourbon barrel with barley wine characteristics showing through. The bourbon adds sweetness and makes the flavor less hoppy and harsh than many other barley wines. Palate is silky and again not harsh like others in this style. This was very easy drinking for the ABV and good overall.
