COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The first of our three part Saison series. Saison’s were traditionally brewed on farms in the French speaking region of Belgium for their workers. Ferme de La Ville or “City Farm 15” is brewed with Belgian Pilsner, malted wheat, and locally gathered honey. French Farmhouse yeast brings aromas of spice and earth. The body is light with complex flavors and a dry refreshing finish. 6.75%alc/vol 25 IBU’s

12oz pour of the ’Provision’ @ Baileys Taproom. Pours a murky amber with small white head and lots of lacing. Aroma is reminiscent of a sour-- maybe a little honey at the end. Flavor is a beautifully complex mush-mash of a lot of awesome stuff I can’t identify. My palate is pretty well mashed. Moderately carbonated, sour finish that mellows and lingers. I might have to come back tomorrow to try this again. Fantastic brew.

Bottle at the crazy tasting at Craig’s place. Pours a cloudy light orange color with a large white head. A sweet nose of spices, seems like some Brett is in there. The flavor is fruity, some dried apples and berries, woody almost in being very dry, a bit of Pils malt. Quite good. Highly carbonated.

On tap at Saraveza’s Farmhouse and Wild Ale Festival, pours a cloudy opaque bright orange with a small beige head. Aroma of musty earthy notes, some oranges, farmhouse notes and lightly tart light fruits. Flavour brings out tart apricots, oranges and other tropical fruits, oak barrels and some farmhouse notes. Quite complex, accentuated beautifully by the oak barrels. Finishes on dry, tart notes of apricot and oranges. Great stuff.

Draught ar Bailey’s Taproom in Portland (from notes). Funky, yeasty, and lemon aroma. Initial has a pleasant lemon character which gains intensity through the finish. Final gives off some dry, straw, residual lemon. Like a moderated version of Cantillon Gueze. Nice stuff, indeed.
