COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A few times a year, we will cut Dan loose to brew whatever he chooses, uncensored, uncut, unplugged. Always handcrafted, this beer is brewed for the adventurous soul. This is a very limited edition and we make no promises to ever brew this style again. A complex and intriguing original. The mystery began with wild yeast spontaneously fermenting a rich treasure of malted barley and cherries. Unlined Oak casks breathe deep vanilla hues and chords of smoke into this sour brown ale. Our Master Brewer has forged a smooth garnet tapestry that defies description. Wander off the beaten path.
2006 vintage - 7%
2010 vintage - 5.5% (separate entry)
You can tell the vintages apart as the 2010 bottles have the © symbol to the left of the UNPLUGGED banner while the 2006 does not.

12 oz bottle. Pours a clear reddish-brown color. Aroma is sour cherries and earthy oak. Flavor is sour cherries with hints of caramel malt, vanilla, and smoke. Quite amazing. This beer is really something else. I got it directly from the New Glarus brewery in New Glarus, Wisconsin while I visited. Thanks to MeisterbrauMHB for taking me there! Highly recommended.

Bottle. Pours ruby, off white head with lacing. Nose has complex acidity reminiscent of cherry or plum sauce reduction and mild, almost sweet, notes of acetic acid, some bright earthiness as well. Flavor is very nicely balanced, quite dry, starts with lightly sweet cherry-pie like notes, middle is solid barley backbone, fresh and bready, ends with a puckingly tart finish. Great stuff.

Carbonatation moyenne-faible, corps moyen.

12oz bottle pours with a murky amber body that supports a thin tan head. The aroma offers up sourness, a nice spicy malt sweetened woodiness, some cherry juice and a tad earthy agedness. The taste has mild puckering notes, a bit of sour cherry and then modestly sweet cherry juice. To midway a woody sort of spicy wood note just peaks up over the other flavors. Into the finish it tries to have a moderate sour yet sweetened vinegar sensation but instead it just lightly murmurs away off in the background.

Reddish brown. Quite fizzy. Very sour with lots of cherry taste and some woodiness. Hooray.

Bottle thanks to my wife. Garnet with a tan head. Tannins, cherries and dark red fruits. Tart and slightly funky in the best way. Outstanding.

Thanks for west for checking this one of the list. A little tart. A little gritty and earthy. Cherry and fruit atoma. Pretty nice. Smooth.

Bottle courtesy unknown. Pours a reddish brown, little to no head. Aroma latex paint, ethanol, cherry syrup. Body lively, finish tannic and slightly spicy. Meh.

12o bottle pours a reddy brown color without much of a head. Mild sourness and some nice brown ale flavors.

Probably one of the best sours I've had. Bottle pour at Toefflers in new glarus. Dark red with no head. Sweet fruity raspberry and raisin aroma. Cherries and raspberries dominate the taste. Not a "puckery" sour - just fruity and delicious.

March Ale Alpharetta. Damn I like me some New Glarus. Lots of sour cherries and oak. Bits of vanilla add to the depth of medium sour cherries. Lively carbonated palate. Good stuff.
