3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Glouglouburp (4784) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JUL 27, 2011
In short: A doughy, spicy and fruity IPA. Good beer
How: Tap at brewpub, Maple Shade location, NJ
The look: Clear dark golden body topped by a small white head
In long: Nose is a bit discreet for the style and shows some fruity hops (tropical fruits) and cereals. Taste is honeyed and caramelized pale malts, bread dough, moderate amount of spicy and fruity hops. Bitterness level is medium. A bit too doughy to be a refreshing IPA, average for the style. This brewpub was our first stop after leaving New-York City for the RBSG week-end, a week-end during which we drank beer in moderation. Lots and lots of moderation.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Goodgrief (1656) - Middletown, Delaware, USA - APR 11, 2011
On tap at Media location. Pour was orangish with white frothy head. Aroma and flavor were both marked with a funky fruity grain-like presence that must have been the soriachi. Very unique buy adds a candy-like sweetness that bordered on cloying. I spent the entire pint trying to decide whether I liked it or not...and still don’t know. Thick on the tongue. Definitely worth trying once for uniqueness, if nothing else.
4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 robiannelli (462) - West Deptford, New Jersey, USA - NOV 22, 2010
Ob tap at maple shade poured a copper amber with light head. Aroma is very flural with a candy sweet smell also notes of toffee malt. Flavor is bright and sweet for an ipa but in a good way flavors of carmel toffee and even coconut present. Dispite sweetness it has a great bitter balance body is medium to full and has a great feel. The sorachi hops are very tasty and overall this beer rules

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 dmac (2658) - Toms River, New Jersey, USA - JUL 13, 2010
Draft at Maple Shade. Poured an orange/amber body a smaller fizzy white head. Aroma of tropical fruits, peach, lime and a weird touch of wet dog. Medium to fuller chewy body with strong carbonation of small tightly packed bubbles. Lots and lots of hops coming through producing all types of tropical citrus and a touch of pine. I’m really digging this hop, good good stuff.
