4.9 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20 cmonster (683) - Portland, USA - NOV 4, 2011
UPDATED: NOV 5, 2011 2010 vintage. Bomber served in a goblet. Visually the same as Stormwatchers. Dark mahogany with amber hues. Little to no head and minimal lace. But this is where the minimalisticity ends as there’s something lurking in this viscous elixir. Massive aromatics show toffee, bourbon, dense dark fruits, nutty toasted malt, vanilla, caramel, and oak. Very complex. The hedonistic flavor is urged on by the alcohol. The mid-palate explodes with dark fruit, oak, and bourbon, all flowing through the finish. Huge body, ultra creamy thick texture, soft carbonation, and a long, sticky, warming finish. Amazing.

Via trade with 48FaninCali. Gorgeous smell as soon as the bottle is opened, bourbon, fruit - dark, ripe, fruit especially, bread, caramel, vanilla. The apperance is a dark brown, ruby red tinge, almost no head. The flavor is more of a bourbon boozy burn, dark fruit, raisins, bread, caramel, oak, vanilla. The finish is is booze burn, sweet, pine needles. Medium/thick to thick in body, oily mouthfeel. Nicely done. Thanks, Austin.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 Rando7 (488) - Iowa, USA - MAY 13, 2012
Bottle pours dark brown with thin off-white head that recedes rapidly. Malty aroma with heavy bourbon. Taste sweet caramel, a little dark fruits, vanilla, oak, marshmallow and pronounced bourbon. Finish a little oaky dullness with marked alcohol burn. Thick palate without being syrupy or sticky. Very noticeable alcohol.
Apparently too sweet for some but I really enjoyed the contrast between the sweet malts and the alcohol.

2011 bottle. Poured a dark brown color with a small off-white head. Aroma was sweetness, dark fruits, sweetness, and plenty of bourbon barrel notes. Flavor was sweet, a bit hot and a little heavy on the bourbon barrel. I can see a great beer in there, but perhaps could have a little more time to rest.

66cl Bottle at AHBS, 2011 version. Deep dark brown colour, orange-beige head. Aroma of sweet oak, very malty, dark fruits, vanilla, bourbon. Flavour is very sweet, malty, dark fruits, brown sugar, bourbon, nice bittersweet finish. Fullbodied. Although rather sweet, this is really good.

Thanks to Savvy for the bottle. Pours a nice dark caramel amber color with a white head. Nose is malt, toffee, caramel, vanilla, booze, bourbon, wood, a bit of sherry and wonderful complexity. Flavor is similar- flavor is revealed as toffee, caramel, vanilla, sherry, bourbon, and assertive is a good word for the booze, but the beer quickly wraps it up in layers of toffee, caramel, and sherry. Nice, complex beer with vanilla and toffee throughout, weaving into the finish.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Dfonorow (590) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - APR 15, 2012
2010 bottle. Dark brown with a very small off-white head. Aroma is darker fruits (raisins, figs), caramel, and booze. The mouth-feel is pretty smooth considering the ABV but still has a good amount of alcohol burn in the finish. Notes of oak chips, roasted malts, and dark fruits. Not as impressed with this beer as I thought I would be, maybe its better fresher?

Bottle 2011. Pours a dark brown with tan head. Smells tastes of dark fruits vinillia caramel oak bourbon booze. medium sweetness, lightly bitter, medium body, soft carbonation, Very nice beer has lots of character a bit heavy yet on booze but over all a great beer. I’m looking forward to a year or so to mellow it out.

Thanks to whoever brought this one to Imminent Liquidation II. Bottle from 2011, not my first run in with this one.
A - Pours dark caramel brown with a decent one finger tall khaki colored head leaving small streaks of lace down the glass.
S - Smells of toffee, caramel, vanilla, dark fruits, oak, molasses and plenty of bourbon booze. This one still smells a little too hot for my liking but still very nice.
T - Starts off with plenty of sugary sweetness - mostly toffee, caramel, vanilla, dark fruits, etc. - quickly giving way to the hot bourbon booze and some dry oak tannins. Finish is best described as sweet bourbon heat, lingering long after consumption.
M - Big, boozy body and flavor with moderate carbonation. The carb goes a little flat as it sits in the glass and the booze is still way too strong.
O - I remember when I had this beer for the first time. It was a 2009 bottle, consumed in early 2010, and it was the #10 overall beer in the world. At the time I thought that was WAY too high. I have had it twice since then and it is still very good, but the best I have ever had? No way.
