COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our first release of the embodiment of good versus evil in a barrel-aged blend. Part bourbon barreled The Serpent’s Stout, and part brandy barreled The Angel’s Share, this is our most anticipated release of the summer.

dark pour with perfect one finger caramel head. Lots of bourbon and brandy sweetness on the nose. Surprisingly smooth mouthfeel, sort of a brandy start, with bourbon carrying it all the way to the finish, and some residual alcohol burn as it goes down.  Solid coffee aftertaste. As the beer warms, the coffee becomes a bit more pronounced, an the brandy sweetness does as well, there’s a lot going on with this beer. All around impressive beer.

Pours a very dark brown. Aroma of bourbon and brandy. Some vanilla, dark fruits. Taste is the same with some hints of coffee and some hop bitterness but not really. Medium full body. Delicious.

Poured pitch black with no head or carbonation. Smells of coffee, vanilla, cinnamon and alcohol. Tasted the same, a bit of raisins, creamy but harsh finish.

UPDATED: JUL 15, 2014 Pours opaque black with brown-yellowish small top, thick and intense although. Aroma starts pleasant, rich, complicated - wood, roasted malts, light chocolate, a bit sour berries, dark-roasted caramel, and too boozy as well, reminds a bit whiskey malt. Later aroma becomes too alcoholic and monolith dark caramel. Taste was sweet, light to average bitter, more from darker malts with bourbon flavor in aftertaste, not long finish, although some astringency in mouthfeel and warming is present. To me here is no beer, more strong alcohol flavors. Oily, slick texture. Weird. but compared even with "Harviestoun Ola Dubh" which was pure strong alcohol flavorfull but still beer, I expected more rich flavor from this brew (barrel aged) but there isn’t. So price/performance is "no more".
Priekš kokā izturēta alus, kas piedevām ir blends, šis šķiet muļķīgi vienkāršs un alkoholisks.

Bottle from homeboy homer321. Pours deep plum, no head. Nose is full of vanilla, oak, bourbon. Taste has a strong base of brandy and bourbon, slight vanilla, leather. Major booze burn. Full body, little carbonation.

Bottled. Blending the Angel’s share and Serpent’s Stout isn’t exactly a match made in heaven to my tastes, especially as I am not a fan of the latter.

Color is dark, dark brown with no head. Aroma is bourbon and a little brandy. Taste is exactly the same with a little coffee and dark dried fruit and a tiny bit of hops bitterness. Fairly light bodied. This stuff is excellent. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

2014 vintage. Pours black. A thin fizzy brown head rings the glass. Aroma beyond description. Complex is an understatement. Its a treat to just sit and smell it - the barrel character is intoxicating. Is rate the aroma 11. Full body. Chocolatey bourbon finish. Enough carbonation to keep it moving. Very pleasant alcohol warmth. The alcohol is the but it stays out of the way. The ’Art’ of brewing on display.

Very sweet aroma-some bourbon, roasty, like a sweet chocolate fruit. Taste is similar, a little alcohol ting, chocolate, sweet, roast

I am a wine guy. Had to switch from a Zalto Burgundy glass to a much more open Nachtmann Xxl because I disliked the nose so much. Best described as sweet yeast. Kind of a fructose nose. The palate on the other hand has perfect feel, velvety and mouth coating. The taste is reminiscent of a sweet malt beverage from Puerto Rico with some hints of brown spirits and lots of yeast which I like in the mouth as opposed to the nose. A delicious beer.

355ml bottle from Archive Beer Boutique 130614. Beer does not get any better than this, surely.
