COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Each fall, hops reach their peak flavor- bursting with aromatic oils that give ales layers of complex flavor and aroma that can only happen at harvest time. For us, fall comes twice a year- once in each hemisphere. This Harvest Ale features "wet" or un-dried whole-cone hops from Yakima, WA that are plucked from the bine and delivered to our brewery within 24 hours of picking.

From New Seasons - Poured an orange color with a foamy white head. Complex aroma. Grassy. Floral. Bread. Tastes fantastic, and it’s been in my fridge for about four months. WET HOPS! What more is there to say, really?

Originally reviewed: 1/6/09. Pours a deep orange with a very large foamy head on top. This retained perfectly, and looked like the top of a malt shake the way it hung around. Perfect lacing/webbing. This beer smells so good! Nice piney notes mixed with definitive citrus. Hoppy as all get out. I want to down this. Wait! Slow down. The ABV on this bad boy warns me not to "down" it. I sip. I gulp. The mouthfeel is weak and watery; maybe that’s why I graduated to gulping. Makes you think it’s weak, when in reality it’s got a hidden power. I’m feeling slightly hazed. I dig this. Listening the the Killers on my computer has never sounded so good! I know, I know, 6.7% ABV is not that high. But let me tell you it snuck up on me when I least expected it. Flavor is a wonderful, bountiful mouthful of hoppy goodness. Bitterness is tamed down a bit, which probably aids the high drinkability as well. Spot on, SN. Wonderful brew that I will seek out year after year. Recommend.

650ml bottle. Rich orange color with a lts of thickly packed foam. Looks as thought has some weight to it. The aroma is filled with flowery hops, caramel and butterscotch and is truely wonderful. Resinous in the mouth and carries a long lingering aftertaste. Another great beer from Sierra Nevada.

This is by far your brand if you favor bottled eczema flakes . However it does last quite long in the back of your throat if you can hold its taste back long enough. It resembles.... the after taste of captain crunch

Incredibly fresh earthy hops dominate the aroma, along with a pleasing subtle grapefruit background. Pours a deep copper brown color with a massive foam top. Incredibly strong bittering hops upfront followed by a plethora of greatly balanced flavors including nuts, dough, herbs, caramel and oats. Thin in texture and subtle carbonation. Overall, I am blown away by this brew. It boasts massive hop flavor with just the perfect amount of background malt. I give this an A+ rating.

Bottle: Thanks to VsXsV: I just love this 710 ml bottle! Medium vast and slow disappearing off white creamy head on top of a light cloudy amber colored beer. Aroma of hops and it’s hop fruits, pine, citrus, light cactus, light peach, light abricot, The flavours are typically dominated by the hops, hop bitter and hop fruits. But it is not strongly available and thus well balanced and leani g lightly towards a light watery mix, while the beer itself has a creamy texture. A nice mix of peach, hop bitter, citrus, pine, hint of barley malts, nettle, light creamy/sticky, hint of herbs (tea ish). Nice hop fruity, sticky hops and hop bitter aftertaste. Low carbo, soft creamy mouthfe, medium to full body and a creamy texture. Lovely balanced and tasty beer. Very nice.

Beautiful bottle pouring a beautiful dark orange amber ale. Thick fluffy white head. Rich flowery hoppy aroma, some pine. Very smooth taste, broad spectrum of subtle yet intense hop flavours. Medium mouthfeel. Very balanced.

Poured into a glass stein. Amber color, transparent with a big two fingers of head. Looks awesome. Huge smell, pine, grapefruit and bit of malt in the background The taste is a trip. Start down the road slow, a bitter bite. Moving a little faster with a good malt and then the hops are back; bigger and faster. Lemon, pine tree in my mouth, chalky bitter, grapefruit, how many different bitter tastes are there? Well, drink this beer and find out. Medium body, moderate carbonation, almost clean texture. Wow. The head of a stout, big and fluffy with the most complex taste and body to match. This is a new favorite on my IPA circuit.
