4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20 superspak (1480) - Michigan, USA - JUN 6, 201212 ounce bottle into pint glass, no bottle dating. Pours almost crystal clear golden amber color with a nice 2 finger dense off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Some good spotty lacing on the glass. Aromas of big orange rind, pineapple, mango, grapefruit, passion fruit, grass, floral, herbal, honey, pine, and earthy spiciness. Fantastic aromas with big hop flavor complexity and balance. A truly dank smelling beer unlike any I have ever had. Taste of big pineapple, herbal, pine, grapefruit, orange zest, grass, floral, bread, and earthy spiciness. Fair amount of bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of citrus, pine, herbal, grass, pineapple, and earthy spiciness on the finish for a good bit. Fantastic balance of bitterness and sweetness; with a great balance of hop flavors. Medium carbonation and body; with a slightly creamy and insanely smooth mouthfeel. Alcohol presence is not noticed at all; and this is insanely easy to drink. Overall this is a world class IPA for sure! It is so smooth and balanced; with great hop flavor complexity. I won’t be turning this down next time I see it when in Ohio again.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 5000 (4974) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - MAY 5, 2013
Bottle:   Darker amber, thin to moderate foamy white head, nice lacing.   Soft hoppy nose.   Seems to be a very muted hop, not terribly bitter, slight citrus peel, perhaps some dank basement.   Looking at the English flag on the label makes me think its one of those hop types that isnt too bitter, but instead has a dank/basement aspect.   Oh look, its Citra!   Very smooth, bigger than a Pale but as an IPA, seems almost too smooth (lacks a bit bitterness punch).   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Finishes fairly soft, nothing real biting, and certainly a bit muted.   Lacks any zest of any sort.   However, its clean and unoffensive.   Thanks to JStax for the bottle!

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Braudog (5026) - Hampton, Virginia, USA - APR 25, 2013
Bottle. Light, orange-tinged amber color, quite active, with a thin but sustained head of white foam. Drinks with a foamy mouthfeel, and a orange-citrus acidity up front. There’s a funky, musty mush behind that. Enjoyable if a bit home-spun. (#4997, 4/25/2013)
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 bytemesis (1413) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - APR 24, 2013
Bottle. Pours clear amber, very small off white head, decent lacing. Aroma is citrus, quite strong butterscotch, caramel. Flavor is the same, light sweet, light bitter, very buttery, which was pretty darned surprising to me Medium body, watery. I can only assume this has been on the shelf for a while, but I can’t find a date on it anywhere to confirm.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Lukaduke (1017) - Portland, Maine, USA - APR 18, 2013
Bottle thanks to Jstax ! Pours a deep golden color with a half finger of suds. The nose is pungent with candied oranges, caramel malt and a touch of lemon peel. The palate follows the nose nicely with big citrus notes, grapefruit and some sweet caramel undertones that bitter out nicely and linger with a touch of grass.

12 oz bottle. Clear golden brown with a scant head. Nose is pink grapefruit, brown sugar and light pine; so fresh. Medium body, resiny with a tingle. Taste is orange, caramel, mango, grapefruit peel and pine. A nice west coast IPA if a bit clichéd.

Hot damn! I didn’t expect this to be so good. Aromas of huge grapefruit and tangerine came bursting out of my snifter. Tropical and floral aromas followed up. Pineapple? Nice! Pour is hazy amber with a thin white head. Flavor is pineapple, grapefruit, some pine, light caramel malts, and a touch of guava. An awesome IPA!

12oz bottle in a Heady Topper glass. Pours amber/copper with a lacy, off-white head. Aroma of citrusy hops with hints of pine plus caramel and pale malts. Flavor the same, with the hops dominating. Average texture. A good IPA.
