Bottle from Canada, merci Mathieuc! Pours a chalky dark black, thick as oil with a meanness to it. To borrow a line from Todd, I would cross the street if I saw this beer walking towards me. Strong aromas of coal, smoke, roast and some black unknown component that makes its presence felt through its sheer will. This beer will dominate you if you let it. This beer would make a cigar city stout cry for its mommy, cradled in the fetal position waiting for Florida homers to rescue it with their overinflated ratings. In short, this beer pulls no punches. There is so much smokey roast in here it’s almost hard to believe. Where the hell are the high ratings for this beer? This beer makes baller stout look like a $1 bill. Jesus. If you don’t like this beer, then you don’t like beer. thick, black, dark, smoke, roast, hops, coffee, chocolate, cigarette butts. This is world class.

Strong dark malts, with toffee and milk chocolate. Very well balanced and creamy mouthfeel, a bit sweet, prominent licorice and very well rounded.

Bottle. Pours cloudy nearly black with airy tan head. Clear aroma of malt, caramel, coffee, chocolate and liquorice. Bitter and roasty flavour, with sweetish notes of caramelt malt and chocolate, and touches of coffee and liquorice. Lingering bitter and roasty aftertaste. Good stuff.

Thick and strong with loads of chocolate and coffe. Balanced carbo, heavy back and a nice alcohol background. Classy one for the ones who love those darker beers.

Bottle from Bamsen78 - thank you a lot, Marcin! The beer pours out in a deep black colour with big steady head and smooth body. Aroma of malt, chocolate and torf - very nice. Taste of ,chocolate, cake, bread, torf, malt, coffee and dark berries. Finish of chocolate and malt. Very quaffable and easy to drink, smooth one.

500ml bottle pours deep black color with a finger of light brown head that retains well and leaves some nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is roasted grains and coffee with hints of dark fruit. Taste is a roasted grain and coffee bitterness with a dark chocolate malty sweetness. Full bodied with moderate carbonation which pleases the palate nicely. Only problem for me was a little too much coffee, since I am not too fond of coffee.

UPDATED: JUL 25, 2014 500ml bottle at home. Pours black with amazing foam head that remains throughout the tasting. Beautiful to look at! I love stouts with lots of consistent foam (not too airy but binded). Aroma is the best : wood and slight smells of barrel agedness. I must say that the taste fails to intrigue after several sips. Now, it doesn’t disappoint and goes well with the aroma, but there is something off here. Hoppy and burnt malt, roast, wood, cinnamon, resin. I’d love a more bold batch with one of these fine elements more pronounced. Nonetheless, great Impy!
