09-NOV-2012, bottle from Ølbutikken, @Ulkløbben meeting @my place. Black with no head. Sweet roast. Coffee. Does Tokyo* not have peat’y elements? I find none here. Quite sweet. Is that hte Horizon infuence? Low carbonation, alcoholic but not really 17% alcoholic. Lovely drink.

Malty. Pitch black colour, malted smell with hints of chocolate and coffee. Foam is yellow and gone in a second. Taste is burned malt with an incredible rich taste , sweet, chocolate, hops, malt. Incredible stout.

Extremely pleasant to drink. Not to much aroma, but that might be related to a bit cold serving temperature. Otherwise a fantastic beer! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

330 mL bottle courtesy of Chris, served in a stem glass alongside its constituent beers. Pours black with a tiny tan head that fades to almost nothing, leaving a tiny amount of lace. The nose is a complex blend of chocolate, roasted malts and molasses along with herbs, a touch of earth and hops. The flavour is a beautiful blend of the three base beers, with molasses, herbs, anise, earth and a touch of coffee. The finish is long, peppery, herbal and roasty. On the palate, it is full in body with a smooth, syrupy texture and soft carbonation. Overall, this is an amazing complex brew that is harmonic while retaining distinct elements of the three base beers. Beautiful! 2013-01-25

Black beer - no head. As in: No head. looks like tar. Oily thick lacing, but no head what so ever. Strong aroma of chocolate, booze and licorice. Little smoked too. Sweet notes of blackcurrant paired with bitter coffee and chocolate. The licorice is present as well, but not as much as in the aroma. It feels like the strong effect from the alcohol is replacing the CO2, but perhaps it’s still a little too flat. Tastes great though!
