Old Schoolhouse Brewer’s Reserve, waxed bottle and wicked stout flavor. Deep, dark, and complex with layers of caramel, chocolate, and roasted malts. Very rich with high alcohol and plenty of hops to balance out the loads of malted barley.

Bottle kindly shared by toffsbury. Pours ink black with a thick brown head. Aroma is... wow - chocolate, coffee, some vanilla and bourbon - wow. Taste: rich, smooth, creamy, mocha taste, with some vanilla. Bitter finish. Thick and smooth on the tongue.

Bottle: Chouffe glass: Best After Nov 16 2012: Thin/small brown head. Black beer. Aromas of liquorice, some chocolate, nutty, toast, cacoa, toffee, roast, fudge, bay leaf. Flavours of toffee, liquorice, hint of dusty pepper, chocolate, light fudge, little dry, bitter, bit chalky, some cacoa, caramel and roast. Aftertaste is bitter, chocolate, light coffee and roast tones and some toffee. Low carbo, creamy mouthfeel, medium to fuller bodied. Good beer with nice dark and chocolate tones but a slightly bit unbalanced, just a tiny bit.

A good imperial stout with a bit of overpowering coffee. Pours a beautiful deep black with a thick brown head. Smells of coffee, cinnamon and vanilla. Taste has a bit of vanilla in the front, but is then overpowered a bit by very bitter coffee that lingers into the aftertaste. Had in the bottle.

Bottle - Some herbal hop notes, dark roast and cocoa. Jet black with a rich brown. Earthy herbal hops and dark chocolate. Interesting and the hops are aggressive.

Delicious! This stout rolls around your mouth with an effervescent quality. Flavor is cocoa nibs, roasted malt, and vanilla. The flavors stays in the mouth for a long time. Good stuff!

22oz bottle (over a year old) in a teku. Pours black with a lacy, beige head. Aroma of a decent amount of roasted malts, chocolate and caramel, some light notes of coffee, and some light bitterness. Flavor the same, with a lot of roast up front and some sweetness/hints of dark fruits on the finish. Smooth texture. A pretty good imperial stout, but not the most balanced.
