Fairly strong alcohol content of 10.5 %. Nice taste. Very rich and complex. I will be purchasing more of this brew in the future. A must try! chickenflea (21), Oviedo, Florida, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Nov 30, 2009 On tap at local pub. Dark with creamy head. Raisin and plum aroma. Sweet and smooth. Medium body. Little carbonation. Truly a unique beer. Had I drank it blindfolded, I could have been convinced that this was wine. Very pleasant. luttonm (306), Belgrade, Serbia
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 24, 2009 Pleasantly surprised with this. Strong sweet-yeast nose like most Unibroue beers but with a lot more character on the dark, evil end. Mouthfeel is stout and smooth with all manner of spice and tasty sweets. Molasses, coffee and raisins. Dark but not purely black pour with a bubbly tanned head that has stayed around for awhile. Alc does come in, but rather perfectly. A bit sticky finish with a rush of malts. Nice and impressive, but not top-shelf. Hopper (311), San Antonio, Texas, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 23, 2009 This is terribly good. A reddish-black beer with a nice fluffy disappearing head. The aroma is very fruity as is the taste with a lot of flavor going down rather smoothly. The 10.5% ABV is totally hidden more than any other 10 - 11% beer so much it is pretty amazing. This seems like wine drinkers could like this & I like the fancy gothic bottle. rags2rags (14), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 22, 2009 Bottle. Deep brown with a thin tan head. The aroma is slightly fruity but mostly yeasty. The taste reflects more of the Unibroue yeast and dark malts, perhaps a little raisin. Probably my favorite by this brewery. AGAquino (89), San Juan, Puerto Rico

Nice malty aroma, almost molasass. Slight carbonation, sweet malt flavour with noticeable alcohol. Nice lingering aftertaste pintocb (510), Darsville, Georgia, USA

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Nov 7, 2009 Dark brown color. Small head with good lacing. Tried out of bottle. I really enjoyed this beer. More like a stout than a strong ale.
