COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Is there anything more iconic of the lush tropics than the coconut? The delicious heart of this island treasure has a nutty, toffee flavor and aroma that sends you straight to the beaches of Paradise. Kick back with a Koko Brown, brewed with real toasted coconut, and savor the mahogany color and smooth, roasty malt taste. Available Winter/Spring Koko Brown pairs well with coconut and caramel flavors, such as Thai curries, BBQ meats and carne asada. Its refreshing nutty aroma makes for the perfect beer after a day on the water.

Wow...the toasted coconut is a fantastic original addition to an already flavorful brown ale. Dark brown pour with a medium caramel head. Great nutty aroma with an excellent finish. Kona makes some great beers but this is my favorite of theirs.

Pours reddish brown with a large foamy cream-colored head. A nice looking brew. Aroma is grass, nuts and sweet toasted malts. Taste hits you upfront with a sweet candied coconut and then more bitter roasted toffee malts. Slightly bitter aftertaste with echoes of coconut oil. Highly drinkable. I enjoyed this.

12 oz. bottle packaged on 1/30/14 poured into shaker. Clear deep caramel color with almost no head whatsoever. Aroma is caramel, toffee, and nuttiness with just the right amount of coconut. Flavor is nice and malty with good coconut presence and some slight bitterness in the finish. A good example of the style and quite enjoyable overall.

Pours a mahogany color with a decent head and some lacing. Arpma of roasted malt, caramel and nice bit of coconut. Taste of roasted malt, coconut and carmel. Mild bitterness with a clean finish. Medium body, smooth with a nice creamy feel. Nice beer for the style with a tropical touch with the coconut.

Bottle dated 12/17/12. Once again, trying to get the stuff moving from my cellar before it gets stale. Pours more of a brown ale color than a porter, with a thick head of foam. Smell offers some lightly toasted malt, but there’s just not that much of it. Taste is okay, starts with a hint of blond roast coffee, then there is some coconut water, or rather something that tastes the way coconut oil smells. The coconut even gives it a bit of a perfumey aspect. This may indeed have aged past its intended flavor, I notice a thin layer of dregs in the bottom of the glass could be part of the coconut settling out. Never quite cared for coconut, but this goes okay.

Bottle into pint glass. Decent overall beer that I would drink again but not search out. Not a ton of coconut coming through but what's there is nice. The base brown is good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle in Gatlinburg. Pretty flavorful brown with lots of roasted character almost like a porter. I didn’t get any coconut until the finish. Good.

Orange-brown pour, aroma is of coconut and caramel, flavor similar; but while the aroma is rich, the flavor is a little bit too potent and a little too one dimensional. Pretty cool brew though.

Bottle - big foamy head, murky (not in a bad way) medium brown color, nutty malty aroma and flavor with a good shot of toasted coconut in it - impressed you can taste the coconut as much as you can, most "coconut" beers have very little if any at all coconut flavor - this is really good! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aroma of caramel, coffee, coconut. Taste of toffee, caramel, coffee, coconut, alcohol. Mouth-feel is medium bodied between oily and moderately sticky. Creamy as well.
