A few times a year we cut Dan loose to brew whatever he choose. Always handcrafted, the bottle you hold is brewed for the adventurous soul. This is a very limited edition and we make no promises to ever brew this style again. A provocative 85 IBUs reverberates cleanly through this Double IPA. True hop saturation from kettle boil to dry hop cellaring dominates this elegant and lustful sensory enchantment. You hold a deceptively seductive Original Gravity of 19.2 Plato, now 9% ABV following the always 100% natural bottle fermentation. Luscious English Maris Otter malt is the essential heart of this voluptuous double IPA. Surrender is inevitable so enjoy now.

Pours a clear, light amber color with a thin head that leaves some slight lacing around the glass. The scent is oh so strong with dry, bitter hops with a little sweet apricot and bread yeast in the mix. Taste starts out strong and crisp really pounding the taste buds. The hops are well mixed with some sweet malts giving it a slight citrus taste that finishes smooth, crisp, and clean. Iím not normally one that likes the really hoppy beers, but this was fantastic. I highly suggest trying this if you can get your hands on it.

Lightly hazed golden color with a taller light beige color. Big ruby red grapefruit aromas. Just a hint of light caramel. Starts with sweet caramel and citrus, much like a grapefruit topped with sugar and broiled. Soft, yet fair full and silky in feel. Very smooth and easy to drink for a hop monster. If anything a bit sweet. 1/11

12oz bottle poured into shaker pint and shared with Tim at the condo. Amber orange body with a bone colored head. Good lacing. Aroma is boozy, with bread and caramel malt backed by citrus and tropical fruit. Taste is bitter citrus peel and pine with sugary sweetness. Medium-full body, oily texture, average-plus carbonation, boozy dry finish.

Picked up a four pack at the brewery earlier in the week. Very smooth for an imperial IPA. If your in Wisconsin this is a must have.

"Tropical fruit and candied grapefruit abound. Pretty bitter, but not overly so with some earthiness and pine and lots of sweetness. Full bodied. Now Iím confused. I thought unplugged beers were a thing of the past, and thumbprint was in the now, but this was fresh. Thanks to Heybeerman for the trade. I think this is the best iPa or pale Iíve had from them."

Great IPA, but not the best Iíve had. Certainly better than anything I had at New Glarus when I visited the brewery, but donít get too excited for this.

Bottle thanks to Duke, a bit aged. Pours a clear gold / light orange, light off white head. Aroma is fresh honey, dandelion, flowers, pine hop resin, bready malt, clementine. Flavor is sweet malt & floral / pine hop mix, finishes with gooey sweet honey pine hop. Med gooey mouthfeel, med sweet, nice carbonation.

Reviewed from notes: Pine and citrus on the aroma, poured a nice golden color with white head. Light on the palate with piney grass and citrusy notes. Finishes almost sweet.

Bottle that I forgot about in my fridge for a while. Surprisingly still enjoyable! Clear amber pour, lots of white head. Nice hop nose, though perhaps a touch stale. Quite drinkable, dry finish - nice bitterness as well.

UPDATED: JUN 18, 2014 From memory. Had this June 2011. Probably was the first double IPA outside of a beer festival and 90 min. Tasty but nothing amazing. Iíll rerate if they make it again and I can get some.
