4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Pours a hazy amber with a minimal head that dissipates quickly. Aromas of grapefruit, yeast, and some caramel. Taste pretty much sums up the aromas but this beer is superbly balanced. Nothing offensive in the realm of bitterness. Perhaps one of the best IPA’s ever. This beer is a rarity from where I’m from so this is a breath of fresh air to have something like this fall into my lap. CHEERS!

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle at home. Clear golden ale, big white creamy head which is beautifully stable. Clean hoppy nose, citrus fruity and piny. Nicely crisp and bitter hops that keep building up (!) in the aftertaste: piny, grassy, citrusy, orange zest tones. Good malty backbone, not too present but nicely soft and sweet, giving this ale a firm body and delivers the hoppiness. Dry, even a bit tard finish with beautiful hop tones: one of the best aftertastes I’ve had. Medium carbonation, oily mouthfeel.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Beautiful clear amber colour with excellent long lasting fluffy off-white head. Heady and inviting aromas of pine, resin, citrus and sweet malts. The taste is nicely balanced between sweet and bitter. The citrus is apparent upfront and then the pine and resin really kick in leading to a very enjoyable lengthy dry finish. Clean and crisp. This is a very special IPA and I’m not normally a big IPA drinker.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
When the Ale Smith IPA rushes into your glass, you are assailed with a lush citrus aroma that tantalises, with only a hint of the strength of the ale. The head, once settled is a smooth foam of ivory clouds resting serenely on the surface of what is a very impressive ale. The first taste if this valiant effort by Ale Smith may result in you rushing back to the shop to buy more, as it's rich flavour of citrus, hops and acidic resin wraps your tastebuds like a velvet glove. Try it today.
