COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
So called because of the immediate ruinous effect on your palate. 100+ IBUs. Bracingly bitter. Thick, pungent hop aroma. We would say that no hops were injured in the brewing of this beer, but that would be a massive lie. In fact, the words "Stone Ruination IPA" are what older hop vines use to cause little hop vines to quiver with fright and lose sleep at night . We at Stone honor the brutal massacre of countless hops with this "Liquid poem to the glory of the hop!" Paganism at its best!

bottle version. Pours a cloudy, caramel translucent amber... Immediately hit with an intense montage of citrus fruits along with a heavy punch of piney hoppiness. The initial hit to the palate is filled with well paced hops that dance around the mouth and linger only long to invite another sip.. Flavors of caramel, nuts, biscuit yeast and some overlapping fruits that dull the intense bitterness somewhat.. Overall a good IPA becuase the hops dont overwhelm the rest of the flavor..

From draft. Pours a hazy orange, with off-white head. Aroma of floral, citrusy grapefruit. The flavour is predictably full on hops with pine and lemon at the forefront, and floral apricot at the back, but the sweet caramel malts balance it perfectly. Long dry bitter finish. Wonderful.

Strong hoppy aroma, good hoppy flavor to start, just ok on the finish. Lighter color than expected

I know I have tried this before, just never got around to rating it. Aroma is a combo of pine and grapefruit hops with only a hint of malt sweetness to balance it out. I think stone wanted this one unbalanced. Not a particularly attractive beer. Murky light orange color with a huge white head of foam that leaves a mess on the glass as it recedes. Taste is hoppy, but not crazy bitter like you would expect. Grapefruit hops and honey sweetness that linger all the way to the aftertaste which is also hoppy, but still not bitter. The flavor stays with you even when you put the beer down for a while. I like that in an IPA. Palate is substantial and holds up to a beer this size. Not watery at all. Overall very enjoyable. Don't let the name scare you off. You can handle this one. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

650 ML bottle Straw yellow color, slightly syrupy looking, thick looking and a big, billowy white head. Nose is a citrus, pine, and grapefruit attack. Very full on beer. Highly aggressive and fruity. Just hints of biscuit malt to back it up. Lean, clean, bitter, and dank. Just a big, bitter beer. Grapefruit and stewed stone fruit. Hints of biscuit and lots of oil. Full on and big. Even though 8.2% it is bigger in the feel. Shame it is going away.

Bottle from Taniguchi. I am sure I had this but lost my review when the app crashed taking 1000 reviews with it >_< Anyways, enjoy this while you can folks as it is being retired. It pours a copper gold with a creamy off-white head and a big hop bouquet which gives lemony citrus and floral notes with a touch of candy-ish sweet malts in the background. Geez 8.2% this is a big beer with a full mouthfeel and a sandpapery raspy carbonation tht scrapes your tongue clean with a lemon & pine hoppiness before hugging you with some sweet malty caramel. Yum. There’s a reason it is a classic and part of that is it is perfectly balanced and damn smooth.

Pours a clear sparkling orange with an average frothy off-white head. Good lacing. The aroma of fresh hops and citrus is milder than I thought it would be but it smells great. The flavour is very hoppy but incredibly well balanced with some sweetness and citrus.

Tap @Brewdog Sheperds Bush. Cloudy amber, frothy offwhite head. Fruity, resin aroma. Caramel malty flavour with piney bitterness and orange. Slightly creamy mouthfeel, long dry finish. Good.

Tap at Burgr. Slightly hazy, with moderate lacing. Grapefruit, resiny, a little herbal and bread. Bitter throughout. Body is heavier with a soapy feel.
