Bottle. Pours a nice cloudy orange-yellow with a white head. Aroma has a LOT of hops and citrus notes. Wow. This is almost like chewing on raw hops. Very bitter (as evidenced by the 100 IBU rating). If you re a hop head you must try this one. One of the best IPAs I have had.

Big ass citrus aroma and taste. Got some grapefruit and Piney finish. Big hop monster and really good stuff but it isn’t going to ruin your palate. Liars, good liars.

Clear golden body with a finger of white head. Aroma is loaded with hops. Pine, lavender, lilac, and resin. Big bitterness and hop flavour! Pine and bitter grapefruit upfront and flowery notes in the background. Medium to full bodied with a lasting bitterness. Great beer.

Pours a medium golden color......taste is simply a balance of sweet malt, bittering, light floral hop and crispness not often found. A well built ale.

Bomber poured into tulip. Pours a dark golden/amber with a finger-thick head which reduces to just a ring. Leaves a fine lacing on the glass. Aroma is of caramel, strong grapefruit hops, and also quite herbal. Light sugary taste and quite intensely bitter too (but still pleasant!). Medium-full body with a slightly slick texture. Carbonation is rather light, which is rather normal for a double IPA. Long, long bitter finish! This is great! One of the best double IPAs I’ve had. Drinkable cold, but expresses its full palette better when you let it warm up a bit. This is the quality I expected from Stone; I’m not deceived, at all!

Poured into a pint glass out of a 22oz bomber.
Appearance is a hazy gold with a billowy 1.5 finger head with awesome retention like every other Stone beer I have had.
Wonderful bouquet of pine and citrus hops. Largely citrus, though with tons of grapefruit along with some orange thrown in. Some light biscuit undertones but hops by far dominate.
The flavor is tons of citrus with some wood underneath along with a bit of caramel. A strong bitterness takes hold right away but doesn’t completely drown out all of the other flavors. Alcohol is slightly noticeable at the end but this is extremely drinkable for being almost 8%.
Overall, this is a nearly perfect representation of the style and an all-around world class beer.

Bottle. A clear orange colour with a small off-white head. An aroma of malt and citrus. The taste is medium sweet and heavy bitter. A medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation and a medium long bitter duration.

Outstanding DIPA from the SoCal Gargoyle Posse. Pours a nice hazy amber, with decent head retention and excellent lacing. Lots of pine and citrus in the mouth. Lingering mild bitterness. A superb example of the style.
