So called because of the immediate ruinous effect on your palate. 100+ IBUs. Bracingly bitter. Thick, pungent hop aroma. We would say that no hops were injured in the brewing of this beer, but that would be a massive lie. In fact, the words "Stone Ruination IPA" are what older hop vines use to cause little hop vines to quiver with fright and lose sleep at night . We at Stone honor the brutal massacre of countless hops with this "Liquid poem to the glory of the hop!" Paganism at its best!

Big, robust, hearty nose. A jab of lemongrass and floral aromatics. The flavor is like a bull rush of hops, unbridled bitterness, unwieldy pine accents. This is Stone IPA on steroids. The fact that this epicurean brew is also crisp and refreshing is an ode to this brewery’s artisan craftsmanship. Cheers!

Bottle: Clear, pale golden hue with thick head and great lace. Very lifted hoppy aromatics. Citrus and tropical. Clean. No pine. The malt is understated. Dry palate with out any sourness but extremely bitter. It a big full bear. I find the palate has a dust hop flavor which is surprising given the clean fresh aromatics. There’s great depth of flavor but I don’t find the palate balanced. Lacks the richness from malt to match the hops.

Looking at the colour it looks almost like a pilsner, but it has a good distinct bitter hoppy-taste to it. The taste, that lingers on, is very nice.

Hoppy in aroma. Clear golden in appearance. Hoppy aftertaste that lingers. A good IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap@Craft Beer Co, Covent Garden, London - fuzzy amber/orange pour with good white head. Sweet malty and fruity aroma and taste, grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, caramel malts, toffee, some herbal hop spice, bitter finish. Lovely.

On tap at watering hole. Golden Amber with a modest head. Big pine needle and resin aromas with grapefruit as well. Tastes sweet and bitter. Big caramel malts balance out the bitterness of the hops. Creamy and sticky mouthfeel. Nice carbonation. Long bitter finish that lingers and tingles.

Hazy orange body with ample white foam. The head leaves sticky patches as it slowly subsides. Big grapefruit aroma up front with some fresh pine and hay scents creeping through. Sharp citrusy hop flavor balanced by malt/rye backbone. Nice crisp finish, not overpowering considering the imperial status.

7.6.2014. Intense piny aroma with some grapefruit and sweetness. Taste has exotic fruits, also strong pine and quite dry bitterness. Very hoppy.

Awesome. Huge hop aroma mango pine and some plum. Big beer malty for IPA, a little sweet on palate, other than that pure hop goodness!

12 pour from bottle from fridge into Spiegelau IPA glass. Big, fluffy, lasting head. Nice lacing. A little hazy. Great carbonation. Golden color. Great nose of pine and citrus. Floral. Creamy mouthfeel. Very bitter. Great floral and piney tastes. An awesome IPA.
