750ml bottle. Hazy golden-amber color with a great lacy off-white head that lasts. The aroma absolutely assaults your nose. I mean I started coughing. Intense nose-wrecking funk and horseblanket. Tasty as all hell. Cheesy in a good way with just he slightest hint of sweetness and a big intense tartness. Just incredible; very complex. Excellent mouthfeel, sharp yet easy to drink. Lively carbonation. This is a great beer. Not even kidding. It’s amazing.

0,75 bottle, an unique and apparently retired jewel that mortlach shared with me at La Tana pub in Rome-Italy. Grazie! The beer pours a semi-filtered cornish color which is very hard to define (never seen such a unique appearance in any of the beers I have drunken before). The cap is medium-low with gassy big bubbles and a yellow-orange reflex. Fantastic. The nose is complex: wild-red fruits, oak barrel, fruity (peach). Mouth is terrific: a background of round maltiness in a balanced sour drink. Berries, wood! Bravo!

750ml bottle. Poured a hazy golden color with an off white head. Citrus, overall mustiness, barnyard funkiness, some woodiness and brett. Very drinkable and very nice.

Compared with the Hertst - Bottles shared by Armand, Michael & Lydie. Summer pours cloudy light orange with a good steady head. Very subtle funk nose, nice oaky touches. Silky smooth body, full mouthfeel, incredible balance. Taste is fine malts, soft funk and a lot of soft oak. Herfst is a tad darker in colout and more vibrant in the nose; some more citrus and fruity esters. A bit more carbonation makes this excellent lambic more lively and fresh, but ever so marvelous.

This poured a light orange with a white head. Aroma was light barn, mineral, earthy, and pitted fruit. Flavor was light acid, asprin, peachey skins, and earth. Good but not amazing.

Bottle in a trade with Dan. Pours a cloudy orange with a foamy white head. Aroma of slight rubber, floral. Acetic aromas. Taste is sour with an interesting almost medicinal. Slight sweetness. Med high carb.

UPDATED: DEC 16, 2014 750ml bottle served in a Tumbler glass. A: Pours a cloudy orange color forming a huge fizzy, noisy, bubbled white head when poured. Good retention and many lacings left S: Nose is mainly tart and fruity. White grapes, apples and pears. Lambic yeasts are really noticed T: Follows the nose, tart, fruity and Gueuze. Caramel malts. In overall, an acid beer. Metallic taste. Upfront is slightly sweet followed by a dry taste and a tart and mild bitter aftertaste M: Light body. Medium to low carbonation. Tart aftertaste O: Excellent beer. Delicate Drie Fonteinen style, at the same time, powerful Gueuze specimen. Highly recommended [ BA Review @ 7/28/2012 ]

Bottle at home. Has a hazy orange colour with a surprisingly big, frothy, off-white head. Aroma of horse, rowanberries, apple cider vinegar, citrus and barnyard. Sour flavour filled with more berries, especially gooseberries, wheat and forest floor. Has a rich and slick mouth feel, and a light bitterness. A balanced, rich and wonderful gueuze!

Bottle sample courtesy of "hannont". Colour...very cloudy golden straw with an overflowing white head. Nose...quite lemony but with a fair amount of barnyard and horse blanket, too. Imagine squeezing a lemon on a pile of hay covered horse pucky, and there you have it! Palate...whoa Nelly!! Did I just eat alum?! Man, this is an intensely tart beast! Ok. Now that the initial shock is over, the lemon comes back and makes a zesty appearance. There’s still funk and an array of sweet spice, all if which works very well together.
