4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Black pour, moderate head, fantastic aroma of raisins, dates, malt and whiskey...nice. Flavor is if raisins, dates, whiskey, mild alcohol...really, really nice. Complex but balanced. Full bodied and smooth. This is another really great BA brew from this brewer. I would want this again, and it is one worth trading for.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Shared bottle at Sailfish Brewery in Fort Pierce, FL. Big whiskey on the nose as well as coffee. Pours a deep brown with very little head. Taste is amazing, whiskey is very forward, complimenting the subtle tastes of coffee and dark fruits. Amazing!

Pours a deep umber color with a finger of light khaki foam. Big creamy chocolate milk notes, nutty charred bourbon, spicy rootbeer float, some underlying dark fruit complexity. YUM!

75cl, no mention of ABV, new exclusive American brew Anno 2011, with lactose, thx to Secret Santa!, very complex sweet Porter, roasted/sweet and slightly woody/spicy, yet not too heavy, balanced, cloudy, good head, very good brew, yet very expensive!

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle:   Thanks for this one Ron!   Black, deep cola hues, thin to moderate sudsy tannish head, spotty lacing.   Sweet roasty nose, slight whiskey note, faint dark pitted fruit.   Sweet lactose on the tongue, roasty but not bitter or acrid, with soft whiskey, and a bit more noticeable fig and dates on the tongue.   Lingering whiskey after the finish.   Just the right amount of warming.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate to full.   Feels like it might be over the hill by just a little bit, but still very enjoyable.

5 oz pour from June tasting at Doug’s. Sweet aroma of lactose, chocolate milk, and light whiskey. Taste is pretty sweet too but not sugary. Very smooth chocolatey whiskey. Thin body keeps this from being great.

Bottle @ a recent bottle share (thanks to beerlando for this one)... Poured dark brown -- near black -- with a thick, tan head. Great CCB quality here. SImilar taste to other CCB dark beers. Cocoa, milky sweet, with whiskey barrel notes and light roast. Sort of oxidized with its age, but still tasting great.

16th November 2011
Opaque brown beer, tiny tan head. Smooth palate with mild fine carbonation. Smooth milky sweet dark malt. No bitterness or roast here. Balanced by a nice amount of whisky. Finishes semi dry with a little minerals. Simple stuff but done well.

750 ml bottle to snifter (from notes). Looks good; brownish-black with beige lacing. Smells and tastes good too; chocolate, molasses, vanilla, and mellow whiskey. Nice on the palate with a silky finish. Wonderful!

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
750 ml bottle. Pours a deep, dark brown color with a medium sized creamy beige head that settles into a thin film. The aroma has the Stranahan’s whiskey note that comes off a bit strange (same as Hunahpus), chocolate, lactose, molasses, roast, vanilla, and wood, with a touch of alcohol. The flavor has chocolate, whiskey, oak, vanilla, lactose, molasses, earth, and roast. Medium-bodied, smooth mouth feel. This was very good.
