You’ve got to love coffee to truly appreciate this phenomenal brew. Brewed with an abundance of flaked oats, bitter and sweetened imported chocolates, Sumatra and Kona coffee. We’re actually not sure if this is some type of coffee cake or a beer. Either way you can drink this ale with a fork. Breakfast Stout has an intense fresh roasted coffee nose toped with a cinnamon colored frothy head that seems to never fade and makes you wish breakfast could last forever.

Poured into a tulip glass dark brown almost black. Started with about 3/4 inch of dark foam that dissipated to a lighter ring. Nice lacing all the way to the bottom. Smell is coffee, roasty malt, caramel and maybe a little vanilla. Wonderful sweet malt, coffee and caramel taste. Not too sweet, just right. Medium/heavy mouthfeel with light carbonation. Overall an excellent beer. Very flavorful but not overpowering. Easy to drink for a bigger stout.

One year old bottle. Pitch black with a bubbly white, lasting head. Smells of liquorish, bourbon, lots of deep roast, and coffee. Lots and lots of chocolate. Soft spice. Full creamy body with light carbonation. Tastes of deep chocolate with lots of burnt roast coffee and super malty dry finish. So much coffee. Delicious by every meaning of he word

Beautiful looking beer, pitch black with a milk chocolate head. Lacing for days. Smell is of sweet hershys chocolate syrup, slight espresso. Reminds me of Southern Tier Choklat or Mocha. Taste is more chocolate stout than coffee stout. Weird bitter aftertaste, alcohol is pretty light. Palate is incredible. Oats add a thick consistency to this oatmeal stout. Carbonation is good, head adds an additional pleasant texture. Overall great beer. Just wish coffee was a bit more up front. One of the best mouth feels ever.Worth revisiting every couple of years

Midnight black, thin tan head. Strong coffee, roasted malt and a bit of alcohol aroma. Rich and creamy chocolate and strong coffee flavors along with a roasted malt and balanced bitter bite at the finish. Excellent beer.

Pours an oily black, minimal tan head. Strong aromas of iced coffee, roast, chocolate and oatmeal. Taste follows the nose with lots of coffee leading the way with bitter chocolates close behind. Mouthfeel is very oily and slightly thin, given the list of ingredients. Nice balance into a bitter finish with mild notes of char and alcohol. A staple for any fall/winter season.

Well what can I say other than its Breakfast Stout, the beer that every other stout wishes it was. This beer is what winter is all about. Morning, afternoon or night, I can drink this beer whenever. Between this beer and their new Dark Penance, I think i’m all set with dark beers for the next few months. My bank account is going to take a hit, but its soo worth the $$.

355 ml bottle, rated 2014-09-12 @ Hamnmästaren, Malmö
Dark brown, reddish, almost black beer with some blonde head. Aroma has roasted malts, coffee, vanilla and dark chocolate. Flavor has roasted malts, licorice, vanilla and coffee. Full palate with quite strong carbonation and stinging of bitterness. Finish has medium bitterness with some coffee acidicy and alcohol. Long aftertaste. A bit too much coffee, otherwise decent.

Aroma of chocolate, coffee, and roasted malts. Taste indicate the same, but a bit less overpowering, coffee, chocolate, roasted malts, a bit of smoke and licorice. Disappointing part of this beer for me is the mouthfeel, it’s overcarbonated and doesn’t feel creamy at all, it was way too thin.
