You’ve got to love coffee to truly appreciate this phenomenal brew. Brewed with an abundance of flaked oats, bitter and sweetened imported chocolates, Sumatra and Kona coffee. We’re actually not sure if this is some type of coffee cake or a beer. Either way you can drink this ale with a fork. Breakfast Stout has an intense fresh roasted coffee nose toped with a cinnamon colored frothy head that seems to never fade and makes you wish breakfast could last forever.

Draught @ Waldo Pizza. With attenuated hops (bringing it in just under "imperial" classification), this heavy, thick, and sweet stout is a delicious sipper.

I guess I’m just a stout traditionalist, preferring Sam Smith’s Imperial Stout to this type of coffee and chocolate McStout concoction. On tap at The Foundry, poured deep black with a nice head. As mentioned, it both smelled and tasted of unstoutlike adjuncts which can be, and usually are, purchased and consumed apart from one’s brew.

Draft. The glass came to me dark black with only the faintest ring of head around the glass. Smells overwhelmingly of coffee at first, cocoa, light roasted malts. I find that fresh the coffee can dominate the flavor/aroma of the beer; normally I like to let the bottles sit for a month. Certainly the coffee dominates the nose, but that is not a bad thing at all… Flavor is of rich coffee and chocolate/cocoa with a medium+ to strong bitterness. The bitterness lingers in the finish. Silky smooth mouthfeel with soft carbonation. Medium+ to full bodied. A classic of the style.

It’s like breathing the air in your local coffee shop...the baristas would be proud...this is awesome...the coffee aroma on the nose is incredible and certainly was the inspiration for the name...taste follows with tons of coffee and chocolate...with a smooth finish...overall grand slam...it’s hard to express your self properly different when you’re hammered...

Pours black with a tan head. Chocolate, coffee, roasted malt, caramel and vanilla aroma. Dark chocolate, rich coffee, roasted malt, caramel, vanilla, sweet cream and mild alcohol flavors. Medium full body and moderate carbonation. Dark chocolate and coffee finish.

Sample from bottle at Stockholm Beer & Whisky Festival. Thick oily black with a deep tan head. Yes, I do like my breakfast coffee. This is coffee with coffee and an extra espresso. Then some slightly bitter cocoa notes. No beer sweetness. Quite funny, this...

Perfect 2 finger pour. Black in color. Super strong coffee aroma. Tastes like drinking coffee (black), which I Iike! Very thick and smooth. High alcohol without the bite.

Bottle. Pours hazy very dark brown with stable tan head. Dark aroma of coffee and roasted malt, with hints of liquorice and fruit. Bitter, roasty flavour with notes of coffee, dark chocolate and yeast and touches of liquorice. Roasty and estery aftertaste. Very good.

Love the aroma. Chocolate and coffee dominate. Dark black with a small light brown head. Great taste but just a touch too bitter. I’ll be looking forward to this next fall.

Maybe stouts are not for me, I love the flavors a lot and especially the aroma but I can't drink consistently. It is just way to strong and also a little bit too sweet for me. I guess some people like that though. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
