4.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20 ClubGonzo (1978) - Bergen, - FEB 5, 2012
Bottle from Ølbutikken, Copenhagen. Pours a light hazy straw yellow body with a huge cloudy off-white head. Very impressive looks on this one. Nose is strong peppery dandelion tones, herbs, mild saison yeasty notes, blue cheese and hints of straw and sugar. Absolutely delicious; well pronounced while subtle enough at the same time - so much going on. Taste is even better: mild saison yeast, honey, straw, earth and dandelion mash in with hints of pepper, grass and flowers. My God; it’s like my mouth is wading through a flowery meadow in the Land of Beer! :-) The fluffy, perfectly carbonated body makes the beer fresh and the drinking really easy. Refreshing, mild, complex and drinkable, all at once: definitely the best Saison I’ve ever had! And I don’t even care that much for the style! :-D

Bottle @ Scott’s Summer Saison tasting. Thanks so much Scott! Milky yellow appearance with a huge carbonated, off-white head. Fairly floral, somewhat citrusy, somewhat grassy aroma. Somewhat tangy, floral, fairly dry, a bit spicy yeasty, wild, tart flavor.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 Reynolds314 (760) - Connecticut, USA - APR 7, 2012
Pours like all hill farmstead saisons, a cloudy straw color with billowing white head. Aroma is earth, lemon, herbal floral notes, and biscuit. Taste is Anna with that nice floral note. The one negative I had on this particular bottle was an overwhelming carbonation that made it difficult to take even an averaged size sip without having foam shoot out your nose.
4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 20/20 Ernesto987 (1504) - Connecticut, USA - APR 6, 2012
Anna with dandelions. You get the dryness of Arthur with the sweet touch of honey and saison. I can’t describe a honey and flower saison without sounding like a huge faggot.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 boFNjackson (2934) - Portland, Oregon, USA - APR 2, 2012
Bottle at a recent BA/RB tasting... Poured golden, pale amber with a a big forming, eggy head. The dandelions created a nice refreshing, botanical, earthy character. While the honey worked with the malt to create a sweet balance. The some yeast esters and spice. Esters lent towards citrus.

Bottle, 75 cl. Cloudy golden with a very lively, frothy and tall, white head. Spicy aroma with citrusy, herbal and flowery notes and hints of yeast and honey. A whiff of tartness. Starts of light sweet in the mouth with some honey, light to medium bitterness, finish is spicy/herbal with a dry and lightly bitter and slightly peppery finish. Medium bodied, light creamy mouthfeel. Very enjoyable

750 ml bottle; slight haze, straw gold with thick egg white head; white wheat, lemon, fresh cut grass, dry wildflowers; heavy carbonation and first sip is a little tough and spritzy; crisp and fruity with some dried fruit and flowers; not as complex and full as some of the other HF farmhouse beers, but I dig the dryness here; carbonation is a little heavy to me; get a big dose of sulfur and soap too; decent but doesn’t really come together this time
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 RasmusOtt (771) - Aalborg, DENMARK - MAR 16, 2012
Pours hazy golden with a big soapy white head. Aroma is pear, lime, brett, melon, straw, mandarin, tangerine, weak banana, wheat, basement, cloves and a dry and funky saisonish touch. Taste is also pretty funky along with grass, straw, hay, funk, sweet citrus, lime, sweet pear, pine, lemon peel and weak elderflower. Very fresh and a very easy go-to saison!
