4.7 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20 RateandPillage (426) - Atlanta, USA - AUG 21, 2011
Pours a light amber color with light off-white head.
Lots of hops in the aroma - heavenly, citrusy and grassy goodness.
Bitterness is great in this beer. Obviously, a huge amount of IBUs, but enough malt and more so complexity of malt to balance it out. Definitely not a one-dimensional IPA. The balance is great.
Medium body and somewhat creamy. Overall, this is one of the best American IPAs I’ve had.

On tap at Wrecking Bar. Pours a cloudy reddish brown. It seems the carbonation and temperature issues were an anomaly related to the cask. I like the texture and heft of this ipa. Smells decently piney. Pleasantly bitter, solid floral, bitter hop character. A wholly respectable ipa.

Draft at W.B. Orange pour with a strong white head. Scent is malts and citrus. Taste is caramel, citrus and earthy. Nice

pours an average orange color with a 1 finger white head. very malt forward on the nose and throughout the body. not at all a classic west coast IPA. the munich malts come forward, diminishing the hops in the nose and throughout the body. the nose is full of bread, light toffee and light citrus. some caramel malts come through on the body with some earthy hops. balanced finish with the malts and hops marrying each other. not a bad IPA, just not west coast at all.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 ChainGangGuy (3837) - Canton, Georgia, USA - NOV 21, 2011
Appearance: Served during this fine afternoon a brunch a hazed, dark amber body with ¼-inch of white foam.
Smell: Aroma thick with citrus pith paired with grassy, steely hops well ahead of the small, skimpy malt notes of toasted grains and caramel.
Taste: Opens with a mild, lightly sweet hint of caramel candy accompanying the toasted malts with an edge of crunchy graininess. Firm citrus pith quality enters along with the rousing pop of bitterness. Gains some resinous grassiness midway, which takes over the taste and pulls you to the quite dry, bitter finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium-light carbonation.
Overall: It’s an IPA alright.

On tap at the brewpub. Pine and a little bit of citrus hops that creep up on you. The creepiness adds some spice and pepper and does really build for a while throughout the drink. Love a beer that evolves with each sip.
4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 Cybercat (1905) - Georgia, USA - SEP 17, 2011
Comes out of the tap a clear, intense amber with a fine-bubbled persistent pale amber-tan head. Hoppy aroma borders on evergreen and has a strong sweet orange overtone. Strongly hoppy flavor has an evergreen undertone, just a little bitterness, and a note of sweet citrus with a touch of grapefruit. Full-bodied texture has a strong tingle that leaves a persistent fizz behind. Hoppy finish has an undertone of grapefruit and sweet orange. I like how the sweet and sour tones in this beer balance each other nicely, and how the bitter taste remains in the background. A must if you love IPAs!
