0.33l bottle from April 2011. You might as well call it a jet black one, and it has an impressive medium sized tan and lasting chocolate top. The aroma is lovely roasted with strong concentrated soy sauce, licorice, a dark sweetness that I have not nosed in god knows how long along with strong gunpowder and watered down campfire. This smells absolutely fantastic, and it seriously does not have much to go on this.. The carbonation level is average+ with a soft, thick and oily mouthfeel. Really roasty and almost burned in the taste. More of that campfire, but there is also vanilla, coconut, rich chocolate, salty licorice and more gunpowder. One helluva imp stout this! Lingering chocolate-roasty aftertaste, and the salty licorice? Oh my! Haven’t had that flavor, and so much of that flavor in my mouth since the first time I tasted Dark Reserva. It’s been a long time since I’ve tasted a beer like this. Mindblowingly tasty, and this is not far off the best imp stout I’ve ever had. 09.11.2012

Bottled Dec 2011. Black, small tan head doesn’t last. Aroma - strong piney minerally hop character, smokey malts. Body - medium to big, smooth with a touch of carbonation. Taste - strong roasted barley, liquorice concentrate, more pine, dry salty finish. Lovely strong savoury beer. I think this one would continue improving over the next few years - this hasn’t reached its peak yet.

Bottle at barely legal tasting room . Pours black , good white head . Smell is mostly bitter , also a bit sweet , and an undertone of roast-sourness . Taste is full , roasted , bitter , coffee , oats and toffee . Thick mouthfeel . Soft-as-silk taste , that gets way intenser towards the taste .
